What Changes have to be made before Next week?

Hard loss in LA but the coaches did the best they can setting the Viks up Five times in the redzone without a TD. What do the coaches have to do to turn that around?

Hey guy's

Don't worry about CHANGING things.

What you tried to do was fine. YOur team did not execute well due to inexperience with your new systems, and McNeese's team speed and the Gulf Coast heat and Humidity was too much to over come and impossible to practice against.

You need TIME to jell . That is all.

Yes you made it to the redzone 7 times but McNeeses defense was too strong and fast for an inexperiencd team to overcome.

Time will solve that. Be patient. There is nothing WRONG with the system, players, or coach.

It's time you need.

I don't think the coaches have to change that much. Mackins is back and White looks like he'll get consistent time if Howland is injured. The injury at FB is a concern, but the bottom line, this was a game we were probably going to lose anyway.

I agree the more I look at this loss the less concerned I become. Instead of changes I guess the question should be how to motivate the players to catch those balls and we will have to wait to Saturday to see what it is they do to do that.

I think the loss of McKlintock was worse than losing but I agree with MCTailgotor, I think we were supposed to lose that game and the only thing that was really disheartening was the how bad they lost.

But as far as adjustments go I must go with the rest of the forum and say that red zone execution must be improved.

Also the defense gave up to much and First and Second down, You aren't going to do well on D if you are looking at 3rd and Short all night, that makes it easy for the opposing offense to sustain drives and tire out your defense.

The offense execution will come with time. Seven trips to the red zone means that we're putting ourselves in position to score. The offense looked like a new system in it's first game.

Defense is a major concern considering that they were supposed to be really coming together. From the second possession on MSU just ran over the PSU defense.

I really hope we don't look that bad on defense in the UC Davis game.

Thanks for the encouraging words. Its good to hear coming from your perspective. I think the adjustment we need to make is to play a team that doesn't have McNeese speed.

Maybe we will learn our systems and win enough games to see you again in the playoffs. We can always hope. Good luck to McNeese.

Half of speed comes from being comfortable with your job.

Your players are NEW to this system. Once they figure things out and they don't have to "THINK" so hard, they will begin flying to the ball just like our guy's.

While we do have several guy's with 4.2 and 4.3 speed, what really makes them fast is the fact they now have a couple of years in the system. Somthing they didn't have much of last year.

Their confidence adds about a half a second to their 40's

Your's players will fly to their places once they have time to jell.

THAT IS EXACTLY WHY I PICKED MCNEESE TO WIN BY A BUNCH.

We had experience in our schemes and you guys were breaking in a new pair of shoes.

Very nice analogy with the shoes. I wish more Pdx sports fans would look at it that way.
