What do PSU fans expect in 2008 for PSU/Glanville

As a Big Sky fan and observer, I'm curious as to what the expectations are of PSU football fans in regard to next year?

I'm one of the people who bought into the Glanville hype and sizzle. I thought he'd take what Walsh had and make it into at least an 8-3 team. I figured PSU for a 2nd place BSC finish and spot in the playoffs. I realize there were injuries this year for PSU but I admit that 3-8 is far less than I anticipated.

Given that, what are reasonable expectations for next year, record wise? Will Glanville and Davis be able to use their names to help bring in top-level talent, both freshmen and transfers/drop downs? And do you think there will be the fan support next year as a result of Glanvile's presence that there was this year or have people already lost the interest that was there 3 months ago?

Maybe it's too early for that now but maybe posters here will chime in during the coming weeks and months.

I think for PSU supporters, it was impossible not to buy the hype that JG and Mouse brought to the program this year. That being said, this program's results fell far below expectations. The McNeese State game was sort of an eye opener, since most thought that we'd compete with programs of that level.

On the flip side, I can honestly say that I had more fun this year than any other year in the past decade. I'm not sure if that was due to attendance being up (over 10k average for the first time in a long time), or the new systems in place, or the day games, but PGE Park was a fun place to be on Saturday afternoons this fall. At 3-8, that's saying a lot about the effort that the Athletic Department has put into the program.

On the field, there are issues galore that need to be addressed.

The Bad:

3rd down defense. The conversion rate for our opponents this year was 42%
Red zone defense. The opponents put the ball in the endzone 72% of the time they got into the redzone
Passing defense. 270.64 per game (113th in the country)
Red zone offense. 56% of the time we put it in the endzone
Sacks. 4.55 per game. At lease we're not as bad as the Irish. :-\
Fumbles. We put the ball on the turf a lot this season with 25 fumbles, losing 13 of them.
Kick return defense was 22.64 / 1TD (94th in the country)
Punt return defense was 11.97 / 2 TDs(91st in the country)
Time of possession. 28.51 (91st in country) <-- Can't do much with the run & shoot

The Good:

Passing offense. #1 in the country ain't half bad
Penalties. 66.5 yards per game and we were usually less than the other teams in most games
Kick returns. 22.68 (19th in the country)
Urrego was a bright spot in the kicking game

I could ramble on with some other defensive stats, but it pains me.

We need to fill senior spots on the offensive line, defensive line, and some spots in the secondary. Graduation happens, and you just have to deal with it. One major area of concern this season was special teams. Special teams helps turns wins in to losses, and when you're a team that has talent, you need to be better than your opponent in that area. Period. Time to see how JG and Mouse do with recruiting. We'll definitely need some drop down 1A and Juco transfers to compete next season.

At the very least, a winning season. At the most, have a decent shot at winning the Big Sky at home at the end of the season. The FCS games make no difference to me.

More games on TV, more fans at the games, a real effort to get students at the game in large numbers. (not this faux horde that nobody can seem to find)

Maybe a new PA system, a band of some sort, something besides that same drum line.
