What does Collette really think about Weber State?

Tal brought up a great point in the other thread, that I had forgotten about 3 yrs ago.

David Collette, You can only imagine, right? When he chose USU as a walk-on, and fully snubbed WSU's Scholarship offer. Wow, what does that say? #1, Stew probably doesn't have the best eye for talent. You look at 3 guys that were on scholarship instead, and not one is still there. #2, Collette has zero respect for the WSU ball program. #3, WSU MUST start winning the majority of the in state games, ENOUGH already. #4, Weber fans complaining about not enough local recruits is insanity. #5, Weber fans who constantly say the real season starts when Conference starts are misguided.

I hope Bolomboy punks his azz.

You are right Ski. Granted, Weber and USU were kinda at different spots three or four years ago, but the Cats were still a strong program winning conference championships and going to post-season tournaments. Yes, the Aggies were coming off of a top 25 season and were winning conference championships. Yet, he was told by Weber he would have a spot and would play and turned that down to walk on in Logan. Maybe he knew he would be the big shiz someday, yet, regrettably, the Aggies are no longer vying for conference championships, a top 25 team, or even going to the post-season. Nothing against Stew or the Aggies, I for one, like seeing them do well, but to turn down a free education to pay and play. That leaves me shaking my head.

I'm sure he is on scholarship now. He may of initially been a WO, but coming off his mission, I'm sure they saved a grant for him. They can't be that stupid.

#1> no comment
#2> probably, but maybe had his priorities in ranking in-state comparisons at the time.
#3> ABSOLUTELY RIGHT, but obviously tough to do. The record speaks for itself!
#4> not insanity, just ignorant to the reality of it all - been that way for years (& partly relates to #3).
#5> misguided?? Hasn't Coach Rahe justifiably alluded to same - in so many words?! But, I give Coach Rahe credit for boldly encouraging to & taking on all in-state & quality outside-state opponents! He's said that it all is in preparation for the most important part of the season - conference play. Agree with a post by SWeatherCat that stated: "...the passion for beating their in-state brethren just doesn't seem to shine like it once did."

And finally, hope you're right on your last point! GO WILDCATS!!!!!!
