What if we politicized the games?

Really, though, you need to look at the counties where each university rival resides.

The following universities reside in Blue Counties: PSU - Multnomah County, CSUS - Sacramento County, UCD- Yolo County, CPSU - San Luis Obispo County, NAU - Coconino County, UMT - Missoula County,

The following universities reside in Red Counties: WSU - Weber County, ISU - Pocatello County, SUU - Iron County, MSU - Gallatin County, EWU - Spokane County, NCU - Weld County, UND - Grand Forks County.

I suggest we motivate our athletic fight with our political hearts against our Red County Rivals. We will need to find other political bases to motivate our fight against our Blue County Rivals.

BV, I LOVE this idea. :notworthy: I (and I'm sure a host of others) will put on the old thinking cap and come up with some very clever ideas. To start, why not just divide up the conference into the Yankee Division and the Confederate Division. When we add another program to balance out the divisions, it will just need to be from a blue county.

If a Blue team wins the conference, all the Red teams get "taxed" some amount which is divided up and doled out to food banks the next year in all the states that host Big Sky teams.

If a Red team wins the conference, the Blue teams have to pitch in and pay for the travel expenses for the winning Red team the following year.

Since historically most Red states have received more in Federal money than they pay to the Feds (and Blue states have paid in more than they receive), this arrangement seems fair.

Still nothing like the Catholic (and often Irish) backing of Celtic in Glasgow against Protestant Rangers.

PSU- ATHEIST!

:D

Seriously, however, at this very moment, it is possible for the Big East to pull the rug out from under all the football schools, since TV doesn't really want to invest a lot of money into it. Boise State and the Mountain West, however, "get along famously." Sounds like the birth of a new conference could be in the offing...

...but there's a catch. It's easier if Montana goes along.
