Say that the UNC staff opens their eyes and Downing does get canned...these questions came to my mind..

1. Where would Scott go?
2. Who would we bring in? Joe? Gary?
3. Where would his son (andrew) go?
4. Where would his staff go?
5. Would the team embrace a new coaching staff with maybe less promises and get back to the basics of football?

Just some questions, what do you guys think?

I got this one:
1. Who cares
2. Joe
3. (see number 1)
4. (see number 3 and 1)
5. I'm sure that since the team has embraced the promise of one (1) win a year, they would be open for
change.

I'm sure there are plenty of opportunities in insurance sales for Scott, he seems like a nice enough guy and if I had a boat that needed insurance I'd give him a call.

Regarding the players some would leave, some would be very happy for a change and that happens at every other school when a change happens.

I will say one thing though, this last year there have been less criminal problems so that is a positive at least.

So you guys think his major d-1 days are over (Purdue, Nebraska) I mean the has to have some talen recruiting Drew Brees. I hope he gets canned I just didn't know what alumni and fans were thinking. :D

The person who deserves all the credit is currently residing in Flagstaff, Arizona. You know, the former AD who decided to take a small school with even less money and hastily vault them into D1. Hmmmm, seems to me that as soon as he realized what a quagmire he had created, he got the hell outta Greeley. Just throwing out somebody else who might have led to this situation since no one on here seems to remember anything but the good times before Downing showed up.

It was actually the President and Monfort who made the push for Division I the most.

Maybe you are forgetting just how successful UNC was in football when it first made the move to Division I. Following a Division II Final Four appearance, the team won 9 games the next year and almost won at Montana. Who was the coach then? Yeah, Kay Dalton.

He did that with Joe Glenn's talent that Joe recruited.

Bringing us back to the point that Scott can't win with Kay's recruits, or his own.
Beardown, you were the guy that hailed Scott as the second coming because he was the recruiting coordinator at Nebraska. If I remember correctly, Nebraska sucked under the Callahan led, Downing recruited, players up Lincoln way.
Dude, get over it...we were better off under Dalton.

But who coached them? Who developed them? Not Joe, he wasn't there. I don't care what you think about Dalton, but his staff did a good job from 2002-05. With the level of scholarships they were competing with, to beat some of the teams they did was amazing.
