Whatever happened to Thursday night football?

Didn't it seem like, as recently as a couple of years ago, Thursday night college football always featured an intriguing game? I remember seeing some monster games on Thursday, and it was cool because the game could be played on national TV.

Why does it seem like everyone has moved away from that? Did ESPN just tighten their budgets? The games still happen, but it always seems like an afterthought type of game.

I think the NFL having a weekly game on Thursdays hurt the college viewership....It always seemed like there was a pretty good ACC game on thursdays, but that no longer seems to be the case...
