Wheelwright Leaves school?

Read on another post that Gelaun went to California Baptist, but he is not on the roster for this season?

Gelaun is on the radio tonight vs. NAU. He's starting for Cal Baptist and playing well. Another Cal Baptist starter is the son of one of NAU's best ever basketball players- Andre Spencer.

He ended up doing pretty well. He hit 5 3's and ended with a game-high 22. Not bad for Gelaun. He is where he wants to be. Good for him. Sounds like he is on a fairly good team. NAU only beat Cal-Baptist by 5; 87-82.

Good for him but I honestly don't care what guys do who quit on their team and this program. He wanted to be the star and now he is at some school nobody has ever heard of. Good for him!

Juvenile post. I'm genuinely happy & pulling for him. Glad to see he lit NAU up last night.

In Wheelwrights defense, I don't think he quit so much as being counseled out. He was going to be the fifth guard in the rotation that year, if he stayed. He just didn't live up to his or the teams expectations. Being the fifth guard means that you will play every 2nd or 3rd game for 5 to 8 minutes. He just wanted to go where he could be a starter. He found the place. Good for him. :thumb:

Do you feel differently when the school quits on him? We recruited over him.... It happens. Build a bridge and get over it!

Evidently he didn't have a lot of options, even with a year available to him to sit out, he still ended up at a DII. Says a lot about the kid. No anger for Gelaun. Glad that he had a good game and found a school that appreciates him.
