Every fan, myself included thought we would be much better going into the season. We had a senior QB, didn't loose much on either side of the ball. However the season hit a big snag against CSU P. A team we had never lost to before. For whatever reason that L set the tone for most of the season. It looks like we might go winless again this season ( I don't count a W against an NAIA school). I don't think we will beat NAU nor Cal Poly. I feel bad for the seniors, but for whatever reason they gave up on the coaches.

I agree that the loss to CSUP was the turning point. It was so humiliating it probably just sapped the team of any confidence in themselves or the coaching staff.
As far as where would a recruit want to go, I still say UNC. If you go to CSUP you are playing the likes of New Mexico Highlands and Fort Lewis--not that there's anything wrong with that, but if you choose UNC, you get to say you're D-I (ranked last in the nation, but still D-I) and you play schools like Montana in front of 25k fans and an FBS team every year as well. If the coach does his job, he could sell the recruits on his plans for improving the team, which would improve home attendance, but I have my doubts about Collins' recruiting ability.
I really doubt that there is too much competition for recruits between UNC and CSUP and I bet 99.9% of recruits would choose UNC over any D2 school.

And the powers that be have to quit kidding themselves and make some hard decision ! And I don't want to hear about going back to D11-- that's BS We need a better leadership with our football program
