I think they have a great shot at taking the championship this year. Montana will be our greatest test

If we hold up our end of the deal the UM PSU game should determine the BSC champion.

I still think PSU finishes second to Montana this year, but makes the playoffs, which is all I care about. I'm thinking 9-2 and hosting a 1st round playoff game.

reality check

talent is low for davis' offense

Why do you say that? Why would receivers like Mackins and Kirkland (if he comes back) be any worse in this offense than they were last year?

tell that to the members of the 99' UH football, 0-12, as bad as it gets, one year in the system, WAC champs. We are not terrible, we have a shot next year.

Davis wan't a coach in '99 but ya'll are pretty much running the same stuff JJ is at Hawaii. We were 0-12 in '98 and JJ came in an plugged all those players into the R&S and we went 9-4 (the greatest single season turnaround in NCAA football history), won a share of the WAC title, and went to a bowl. The R&S is the great equalizer. It makes average players great and great players unbelieavable. We also didn't have much talent and depth on that '99 team but if the PSU players can come together and believe in Davis and his system, ya'll can do tremendous things right away. It doesn't have to take 2 or 3 years, trust me!

You say this twice, then provide no links as to why they aren't talented. If you were to provide some proof, your points might make more sense. As to a position to watch, it might be linebacker. Can Schantz or someone else even come close to making up for the loss of Hayward? Also QB. Is White as good as he looked at times last year?

There are recruits that have not arrived?!?

What? Recruits can't report until graduation.. They will be there for summer drills..Remember they are still in high school..

Not all recruits arrive at the same time. I have seen many of the JUCOs on campus, and some HS guys graduate early. However, especially with the walk-ons and normal HS recruits, the team will improve substantially in the fall.

The Leunen article in the Tribune. However, it only says they need to address receivers in recruiting. First, this is probably a motivational tool for guys who have been slacking in practice this week. Second, any R&S team will need tons of receivers, so wanting to recruit more of them doesn't mean much.

I see your point. This is good news certainly.
I suppose the entire team are freshmen of sorts right now...so.
I hope for the best.
