White Helmets!

Good work.... I honestly like all three. I don't like the heavily angular facemask so much, but that is probably a limitation of your graphic template. I always figured it was only a matter of time before white helmets debuted, although I know a round of helmets costs about $50k.
 
I think I like the top one the most, but honestly all 3 are pretty badass. I had my doubts about white helmets, but if they came out with anything that looked like these I could handle it.

Are those supposed to be cromed out as well? Big fan of the Dawgs new cromed out gold helmets. But really do not like the whites they use with the purple logo, but love the whites with the RED WHITE AND BLUE W logo.
Love the designs! Awesome job!
 
I went with the third option, because it's closest to what I envision them to look like, and closest to the black helmets; all white, with an all red logo.

Ok, I'm a uniform junkie so let me say this. I hate most white helmets. There are only a few that I like and most of the ones I hate are because they are worn with the wrong uniform. Let me explain. White pants, jerseys and helmets are okay only if the helmet AND facemask are white. Dark uniforms with white helmets make me sick (Titans, Wyoming, Bills etc). If EWU do this I hope it is more like the two with the white facemasks. And I hope they only wear these with the all white unis. Nice job on the mockups though. :rant:

So how are you liking the Oregon State helmets/facemask?

Which ones? The white ones or the ones they wore against us? I'm not into the stripes down the facemask and the white helmets they have are ugly. I don't like the new logo. It would have been better if they would have kept the old logo and dropped the text out of it. That's another thing I don't like is helmet logos with the mix of the school name AND the logo. (TCU, Boise St) one or the other please. :D
 
Was tooling around with this template some, and in the spirit of military appreciation day tomorrow came up with these. Just messin' around. Top one is probably my favorite. :mrgreen:







 
Thanks, I've been tooling around with photoshop, trying to think of some other helmet ideas. What does everyone think would be a good idea? I was thinking maybe a "winged" helmet, or one with a block letter "E" on the side.

Here's another one I did of the multi-cam pattern and one in Carbon Fiber.



I need to find another logo graphic, because the one I'm using isn't the best.

I like the ideas, Ranger. A tip for the logo to make it "curve" around the helmet... after you place it, make a spherical selection the size of the helmet, then go to Filter > Distort > Spherize. You'll have to size down the logo a little bit afterwards (or make it about 20% smaller before you spherize to account for the increase afterwards). It does an okay job, but if you want to go the manual route, when the logo layer is highlighted, use the free transform tools (control T, then right click) to alter it as you wish. Distort and Warp are the ones I use most.

Also, if you haven't watched these videos, do so. While amusing and hilarious, they are also very informative. :lol: :D

Ok, so my idea was with a white helmet, and not a black one...but, Ahem... :lol:
