Who had the better trick play, Southern Utah or Weber State?

To pass to a lineman they have to be behind the QB so that it's considered a running play. If the pass is forward then the lineman would be ruled an ineligible receiver. I watched the SUU play several times and I think it was a forward pass that wasn't called. Either way, Weber's is way better just because of the way Downs absolutely blew up the would be tackler.

In the Football Dictionary, under YAC, it will now show a video of that catch and run. It may also be shown for the definition of BYOB. I love that clip and play.

Somebody asked about a lineman's eligibility to be a receiver. A lineman can be eligible if they are in an eligible position and have reported in as a receiver. To be in an eligible position they must be on the line of scrimmage and have no other players on the line of scrimmage, on their side of the ball between them and the sideline. In Brown's case, he was not a receiver because he got the ball from a lateral and not a forward pass. In that case, I'm not sure that he even needed to check in with the officials as a receiver. :coffee:

Agreed. Maybe the same ref who missed that was was the same one who decided the hit on Cantwell from the SUU player wasn't targeting.

i was at the psu game. we had i think 3 trick plays. i personally didnt like the one with our 6-6 320 lb lineman. is there some reason we dislike psu? it was such a random game the way we pounded them and had numerous trick plays. we even had like an 80 yrd pass before halftime LOL. it felt like we were playing ISU or Griz and we wanted to pound them like it was the last game of our lives. :)

i didnt like trick play because it seemed unnecessary and could have caused an injury. a 260 lb defensive lineman shouldnt be getting clocked like that. though it was funny the home field kept replaying it on the big screen. i felt bad for that player though. it was his senior day highlight of his last home game.
