Come on Guys,

Hughes is ideal! The location and parking will handle 30K not to mention light rail station service there. Los Rios is going to install an all weather football field in 2010. Stockton?? Are you kidding me. The team team should fold before we have to travel there for home games. Please get with the program. The Univ along with the team needs to solicit money to attract a big name BCS team to play here in town to GENERATE INTEREST rather the other way around. Other wise get used to an ave 6K fans a game.

Hey coachspurbutt, you know what would increases interest in the program? How about winning. That’s right, winning some fvcking games will increase interest in the program. You should worry about doing that first before suggesting any grandiose and absurd ideas about paying, or convincing a RESPECTABLE FBS team to play in Sac. You want a respectable team to come to Sac? Win the Big Sky and obtain a bid to host a playoff game. That will get you your respectable home opponent, not to mention another home game that will generate revenue.

I will say this, someone in the public relations office needs to get off their ass and ask why “the farm extension” has had a couple of games televised on Comcast and why the games featuring MULTIPLE TOP 25 TEAMS that came to Sac State this year weren’t. Also call up the Bee and bitch to them too. (Not that it matters, the Bee is one of the worst newspapers I have ever read.) I will add in a compliment with all of this ranting; nice job to whoever threw together the bad ass electronic media guide and other online tidbits for the football program. I must say after doing a little online trolling to other schools football sites; Sac State has by far one of the best online sources of photos and information about the team, coaches, players, and other random informative documents. The information is up to date and as far as I know accurate. Kudos to them.

So apparently I am missing something here, what’s with all the talk about the Hornets needing to find a temporary home for stadium improvements. Is something going on that I haven’t heard about?

SD,
Don't you take that tone with me We just came off a great win last week and I appreciated your play by analysis that day butt your way off base by blasting me. I was asked how the program can grow leaps and bounds and I articulated my thoughts. Davis admittingly is way ahead of us in TV games. Media guide GOOD. SacBee BAD. And NO improvements are scheduled. Now if you would excuse me I have a job to do.

Sounds like we need another topic thread to really break down these issues around Hornet Stadium improvements. Are we getting an instant replay screen??? However, I have to say Hughes Stadium is architecturally appealing. But we need to stay on campus.

For those that live within close proximity to the City of Sacramento (and Sac State) and know the difference between Oak Park and Land Park or Midtown and East Sac, don't take offense to our suburban brothers unawareness of the community areas within Sac. They only know what that can see from the highway, which is not always the most desirable area of any city.

Go Hornets!!!

Name one FBS that has traveled to a FCS.
Sac State is installing an all weather rug right after the season. Come on coach, you should know that.
Why is Hughes even being mentioned? If improvements were to ever happen it would be done like poly. One side at a time over a period of at least a decade.

2003 Idaho was blasted at WA-Griz Stadium 41-28.

Of course, that's a technicality since the Vandals have no business in FBS and are only there out of state politics due to Boise State's elevation.

Well you know what; winning will result in this program growing leaps and bounds. And that’s the bottom line, and that’s all that needs to be said. Yes the Hornets need a new and better stadium (preferably one without a track), but the way that can happen is by generating enough interest to garner community support and subsequent community donations. Guess what will generate that support and interest? Wait for it…wait for it…yup, it’s winning. So the bottom line is to win games. Do that and the rest of the pieces will fall into place.

And fans are never off base for blasting a coach in any sport, it comes with the territory…and it’s fun for us fans. :P 8-)

This has been an interesting thread but the coach needs to get his head into Saturday's game.

Go Hornutts
