Who will be #2

I'm glad we have a few good back ups when and if Waggener goes down with an injury. The question is - who will be the first one off the bench? Orms or Baca. Dylan has wheels and decent arm but Baca has a bigger arm and maybe a bit more accurate. Any opinions? (Mods, can you make this a poll?)

This is a good question and here's my take. Orms is a duel threat and seems to pick up the team when he comes in off the bench. With him you've got to defend both the pass and the run. I believe he'll be used during the season mostly in a wildcat formation with Orms as the wildcat. Remember, he broke off about a 35 yd. run up the middle during the spring scrimmage. The downside to Orms, IMO, is that he's always looking to run and does not give deep pass plays enough time to develop. I think if Wags goes down Orms will be the first off the bench because he's had playing experience. That being said, I've been impressed with Baca. He seems to have a lot of poise for a freshman and has made some really good throws. He seems to move and manage the offense well too. I think it's also going to depend on who we're playing and the strength of their defense as to who goes in. If the defense is run oriented then I think you'll see Baca. If the defense defends the pass better then I think you'll see Orms. All in all I'd say that both seem pretty capable of moving the team. I'm also interested to see the new recruit from California. Supposedly he was invited to walk on at SC.

I like our pipeline we have in California. BW would be a great QB if he had a decent line to protect him. He's a product of that pipeline.

I think our O-line will be improved, I feel all areas of the team should be improved. I think the only question mark will be at linebacker, and running back.
