Who will be starting QB

For right now it is Dominic ("Pick") Breazeale but Vlahogeorge made a good case for himself during the recent scrimmage. I do know that last year Brezeale was the worst UNC QB I have ever seen so I am very pessimistic that he will be any good this season.

It seems like Vlahogeorge has the ability to complete passes downfield which Brezeale can also do--the only problem is Brezeale completes them to the wrong team.

I know I am stating the obvious but this will have a big impact on the success (yes - I know the QB always does). If we get another year like last year go ahead and chalk up a 1-2 win season now. It's obvious we don't have a great (or even average) QB in the system right now. What we need is average play and limited turnovers.

Reading the articles, it seems that Dominic is the better practice QB but he always seems to act like a deer in the headlights when it really matters. The backup maybe is the opposite. The stats from the scrimmage clearly indicate who played better, it is just suprising it is so different in practice. I'll cast my vote for the gameday player though.

At times I find position battles like this in preseason a bit humorous. Not just at UNC but with any team the reality is both QBs and more than likely even the third string guy will get plenty of chances to prove themselves in game situations.

It's kind of like every spring when people speculate who will be the Rockies 5th started. It doesn't really matter because through the course of a season you end up using about 8 or 9 starters.

My prediction, both QBs end up playing about half the Hawaii game because neither will be effective. Brazeile starts the Chadron game and screws up and gets replaced by the second half. After that it could be a seesaw all season.

I had kind of hoped Dylan Orms would step in and be so superior on all counts that they would be forced to play him as a true freshman but it doesn't sound like that is really happening.

Interesting.

So, will this be a 'David vs. Goliath' or a "we're gonna lose anyway, so let's just f---- around?"

No. The best QB will get the call. If he can't handle the pressure, he'll be yanked, and his successor had better handle the pressure. If that guy can't handle the pressure next time around, he'll be yanked.

In the long run it'll pay off. Revovling QB's suck. Put your money on the winner. If he don't pan out, yank 'im and place your contingency bet in the game.

I think it has to be Vlahogeorge. He seems to be better in game situations, which is where it counts. Also, Breazeale struggles with the deep ball, which is a threat you have to have in order for the running game to be effective.

it looks like Vlahogeorge will be the starter against CSC. I am glad because Brezeale has never shown that he is much of a QB.

Like jjjj said - Vlahogeorge will start aginst CSC.

Good decision by Downing. Braezele just is not a gameday player. Vlahogeorge seems like he is. Let's hope this is a catalyst of some sort.

Apparently Brezeale is "shocked" that he has been benched. I am shocked that he is shocked, what did he expect?
