Who will start next season?

I saw this question posted on oregonlive and thought it was interesting. I know it's crazy to be thinking hoops in June, but any guesses about the starting five next year?

Here's my uninformed, wild guess:

1- Dominguez
2- Murray
3- Nelson - I've never seen him play, but I've heard the buzz about him
4- Coston
5- Jones - What did he play at UofP? Is he big enough to play the 5?

At this point I would probably venture the same guess, although I think there's a small chance that by the end of the year we might see Waters starting in place of Murray. A two point guard lineup can work in the Big Sky, and it would enable JD to play off the ball a little more.

Jones is listed at 6'7" on the roster - pretty small for a center. Visockis may work his way on to the team, but hard to say how early in the season. Even harder to see Conrad playing this season, but wonders have happened. As last year showed (both the way we played and the way Kansas played) teamwork is critical, higher even than height. In the Big Sky we had lots of opponents who had height - but we beat them. Admittedly, Morrison helped.

I see Murray coming of the bench with Waters starting. While only 6 7 I think Jones will be OK.He was solid as a post player in the WCC and expect him to be a 10 point 7 board 1 block a game type for the Vikings in about 20-25 min a game.

If both Murray and Waters buy into the team concept, I don't think it will even matter who starts. They'll both get minutes and contribute with the same kind of high energy play. If these guys approach this coming season with the 'D Huff' attitude of "team first," good things will happen.

G) Dominguez - JD, let's go for a back to back BSC MVP season

G) Waters - I wanted PSU to get this guy out of high school, let's hope it was worth the wait

C) Jones - I like to think of Jones as a poor man's, left handed Buck Williams. I hope his listed weight of 215 is more like 225 to 230 by next season. He has had over a year to accomplish this, so it's not out of the question.

F) Nelson - One of the biggest names to sign with PSU ever. Now he needs to prove it just isn't hype. I'll be most interested to see this guy play more then anyone else next season.

F) Coston - I hope he has been locked in a weight room since the Kansas game. Watching his confidence grow last year was one of the most interesting aspects of last season. This young man has a lot of potential and I think he may have a break out season, if and only if, he get's physically stronger.

The interchangeable parts in this roster will lead to the flexibility needed for another Big Sky Championship. This starting line-up is a rather small, but athletic one. Bone will have the ability to play bigger if needed and the bench is deep with Murray, Polis, Guede, Mara, Thomas, Conrad, Visockis and Wright. Bone's got this program going in the right direction.

1 JD
2 WATERS OR MURRAY
3 PAUL QUEE
4 Phil Nelson
5 Jones
top reserves
Thomas
coston
Murray or waters
Wendell Wright
myara or that 6 10 kid
