Why no news on signings

Is the lack of news tactical or just no commits. Has the new President anything to do with anything yet? GO BENGALS

It’s still early. I would expect something on the known commits soon — sometimes kids want to have a signing ceremony at their school so the offical announcement is held off in deference. I would expect ISU is just now lining up visits for the uncommitted players. It’s not unusual for them to be bringing in recruits until late in the signing period.

The new president doesn't even take over until June 18. Basically he's got nothing to say until then and he certainly isn't going to get involved with athletic recruiting in any case.

I'm curious as to how and why a new president would impact recruiting or signing announcements.

Not unusual at all to not have announcements yet during the spring signing period. This goes for other schools, too.

Regarding the new president, somebody asked him at his hiring what his first 90 days would be like. He took a page from candidates like Wight and said his first 90 days would be spent listening and building relationships. Translation: don't expect major changes, if any, for several months or longer. That's a good thing, imo.
