There are many malfunctioning systems at the football games right now. Some of these malfunctions have been unresolved for the past several years. It isn't a matter of athletics not reporting the problem to the right people to get them fixed. It's a matter of the 'right' people being incompetent to make the repairs needed. Even when they have purchased new systems, the old maintenance crews are not able to maintain them. If something is broken, you can just count on it staying that way. Most fans don't really notice all of the problems. I'm not trying to pass the buck from athletics, but I know that malfunctioning systems have been reported over and over, while nothing gets repaired. The response I have received is: 'We had someone look at it and they couldn't find the problem'. Meanwhile, the malfunction persists game after game. There seems to be a real lack of technical support at WSU. WSU needs to take it more seriously. :wall:
Ugh! Obviously there's also a real lack of accountability. WSU needs to take that more seriously as well.

Now, if the department could work out the constant "technical" difficulties our areas keep experiencing and could produce a decent Watch Big Sky production.

Heard that there wasn't any video again on Saturday night? THIS IS AN ISSUE JERRY!! GET IT FIXED. It is embarrassing to the university.

It does not appear to be a Weber State issue, and it's definitely not the fault of anyone in athletics The video fed to Eversport that we can see on a test server is fine. Lots of man hours have been devoted to trying to fix this, and they're still working on it. No need for the e-yelling. We do and should take responsibility for the things we can control, but this does not appear to be one of them.

Interesting because the ND forum members said they contacted Eversport and they blamed the lack of a video feed on WSU problem. http://forum.siouxsports.com/topic/20885-weber-game-thread/?page=6

EverSport tweet ‏@eversporttv #WSOF24 is canceled due to technical difficulties at the venue.
I'm no expert, but it's 2015 and I didn't think it was that difficult to stream a simple video on the internet. Why did the conference switch providers anyway? It hasn't resulted in a better product. Also, why doesn't the 1430 radio feed work during games? Very frustrating when fans in other parts of the world can't follow the games. And another thing, I didn't attend the game Saturday as I was out of town, but did the sound system at the stadium finally get fixed, three games into the season? This all feels very amateur to me. :wall:

The webstream is also a known issue that we've discussed with KLO multiple times. Their webstream for all programming had not been working, but it did work for them during the week. Then, on game day, it stopped again. It was working sporadically if you listened long enough, but definitely not what we want.
I appreciate you following the forum and at least acknowledging some of our concerns. We beotch and moan a lot but we really only want athletics to improve. My question is, do these concerns make it to the people who are responsible for these things?

Yes, they do. That's the only way I know about them since it's out of my purview.

On a positive note, I liked the new play clocks, larger numbers with the lit up WSU logo below, I don't know if they have been their all season but I noticed them this week at the game...

Did you also notice that the one in the south end zone was malfunctioning? Or, that the video display was going black for half the game, and seemed out of control? Or, that the sound system was going out all night long? Or, how long it takes to reset the clock when the ref calls for it?

Let alone, the video streaming problems....?

Hmmmm...?

Anyone who thinks that the problem of video and audio is a Eversport problem is just sadly mistaken. It is definitely a University problem...

From what I was told, the sound was fine. The volume was turned down at times because there was feedback coming from the video board. The volume being turned down obviously affected the clock operator's ability to hear the official's request to change the time.

The feedback was occurring because of an overheating issue (could have been affecting the video too, not sure). The panel that was overheating was opened for cooling, and everything worked fine after that. A condenser is being installed to fix the overheating issue.
