Despite being in foul trouble by whistle happy refs, and to the dismay of a biased as Hell big sky tv announcer, the Wildcats prevail and move to 6-0 on the road and 9-1 overall, with a 82-76 win over Northern Colorado

Yeah, good game. Glad to hear the feed was able to come in for you guys for your viewing party. Was a close game but certainly had its sloppy moments, McCoy can play, if he was a few inches taller he would be playing in the elite conferences, Bullinger is good as well.. It was easy to see that Weber State is the tops of the conference but I think the others aren't trailing as far behind as they once were.

LOL. Biased? Why? Because I made it clear Weber's guards always take extra steps? As long as the officials don't elect to call travelling, you're ok. If they do, then your guards have some adjustments to make.

However, if you would have listened closer, you would have heard praise for your club's consistency, lack of being flustered and the adjustments the big guys made to not pick up fouls down the stretch. Oh, and you also would have heard me note when UNC got breaks from the striped shirts, too--thinking of a layup by Proctor that turned into a three-point play when allowed continuation.

Yeah, I'm "biased", but our fans would think the same of Carl or any other home announcer whose feed is on BStv.

One thing needs to be clear, on Big Sky TV, they use the radio feed of the HOME team.

Nothing wrong with being bias...infact it should be.

I've listened to Carl, and he is a little biased, but not as biased as last night, Im sorry, it seemed every time Weber had the ball, you said, Weber got away with this or Weber got away with that, and when I was watching UNC on defense, they got away with several over-the-backs, and several reach ins that Weber would not have gotten away with and DIDNT, and you never said anything about them, and most of them were really obvious. And it wasnt till Weber was going to win did you say anything good about Weber, throughout the game you said that Weber gets away with everything, or how you said it "at least as long as we have been in the conference". Yeah, who was in foul trouble? It could'nt have been the get away with everything Wildcats. Throughout the game you showed your dislike of Weber State. out of all the announcers I have listened to, NAU's is the best.

But all of this pales in comparison to the fact that Weber State won and is still in first.

Um, whistle happy? Those refs let the Wildcats get away with 4-5 BLATANT travels in the last 10 minutes, all but one of which were en route to easy layups.

Also, every hometown announcer is somewhat biased, and I think Troy does a great job. How you think NAU's announcer is the best in the league is beyond me...IMO he is easily the worst. Of the eight other announcers in the Sky, I think I like Sac State's the best.

Yes whistle happy, Weber was in foul trouble the whole game, UNC wasnt, Weber wasnt even in the bonus in either half till the last minute. And you say Weber got away with travels, like I said earlier, UNC got away with loads of blatant over-the-backs and reach-ins.

There's biased, and there's really biased

Dont get me wrong, I liked the way UNC's announcer called the game, but his biases against Weber State were getting old and frustrating to listen to. Sac does have a good announcer, but the reason I liked NAU's, is because he really is adamant about his team, he loves them, but he unlike UNC's, does give credit to those its due, not sit and complain about the fouls the other team is getting away with.

I'll agree that they were whistle happy in the first half, but overcompensated in the second half by not calling anything. Bottom line, both teams had legitimate beefs with the refs, which I think is pretty standard with Big Sky officiating.

I couldn't tell if NAU's announcer was adamant about his team because I couldn't get past his complete lack of knowledge of the game of basketball. During our game against them, I wanted to fly to Flagstaff, kick him in the groin, and tell him there's no such thing as a "3 shot" and that the word "BANG!" gets extremely annoying after a while. ISU's announcers also annoy me with their little pet names for the Bengals players, but other than those two I think the quality of play-by-play guys in the Big Sky is very good.
