Wilkins done for the year: Smith back

My sources tell me that Evander Wilkins is done for the year with a tear in his ACL. Its a realy bummer, he was off to a great start ranking second in the Big Sky in rushing per game. Also said Smiths surgery went well and is expected to play next week at Montana.

Sweet/Sour.

It seemed that the injury occured on a non-contact play, he was racing to the endzone to score and hobbled up at around the goal line untouched. I thought it was a hammie, maybe previous undetected damage? He now has a great facility in which to rehab.

Great news on Smith. Hope he is 110%.

How is Hilliard? Time for Croxdale to showcase.

Having Smith back will be a godsend - throw when WE want to throw, not because we are behind and need to make up alot of ground, a la NAU. I hope Hilliard will be healthy with his tender shoulder, and be able to push through the pain. If not, I agree that Crox needs to step up and showcase his skills - give him 20+ carries and see what he's got. I saw last week that they've brought along Biasi for the ride just in case more backs go down. Let's hope Montana gets beaten and bruised up for next week!

Go Hornets!

If this is really happened it's truly unfortunate; however Smith's return should be a boost for the Hornets as they seem to be much more fluid with him. The Montana game should be interesting. Needless to say, it's a must win. Good stuff, HornetMaster.
