Winning culture

The mental aspect of this game was evident in Pocatello yesterday. Watching the ISU players on their sideline, one could almost hear them saying "we can play with these guys". Rest assured Kramer had been instilling that thought all week and it was coming to fruition in the first half of the game. At one point every player on the sideline was jumping up and down in unison encouraging their offense on the field.
How is it the Grizzlies have won two overtime games this season and put together an improbable comeback to almost beat the Eagles?
culture
Teams that snatch victory from the jaws of defeat KNOW they are going to win, they do not HOPE they are going to win.
Are the Eagles there yet?

Easily, yes. We seemed to be lacking a little of that "swagger" we've had the past several seasons in yesterday's game. But I'd reference 6 games of the 2011 season where Mitchell absolutely "willed" his team to win, even with a decimated offensive line and major injuries across the board. Baldwin has cultivated an absolute culture of winning up and down this program. But when you are missing several key players, it makes it a little harder.

Got IT in spades on the offensive side in all phases of the game, not always showing up on the D side. Did get a couple of stops when it mattered though.

You're kidding right? Since Baldwin took over, we've most certainly had IT, that confidence, will-power and resolve to overcome. Not that Wulff was a bad coach, but I'm so glad that he left for WSU and Chaves made a great choice in Baldwin. I hope we can keep him for many many years to come.

I'm amazed that this question is even being asked... One thing about Coach B teams, the players may change but the winning, "we got this" attitude does not. They may not win every game, but they don't give up (exhibit A = the 2012 semifinal game against Sammy).

Most other teams would have simply folded in that situation. Completely agree.

 Or how we finished the 2008, 2009, and 2011 regular seasons. Cost Weber a playoff home game, and battled a crap ton of injuries in the other two.

Exactly. If our D attitude matches our O attitude, we beat damn near everyone. But when our D goes off the rails, it can be a nightmare.

I am fairly certain that there were several seasons in which we had to "win out" to even make the playoffs. So there is another example of a culture of "winning" for ya.
