2023 saw 18 wins in a row. Followed by 3 straight defeats to end the season including getting knocked out of the Big Sky tourney in a single game by 9th seeded NAU.

Thus it was with the Riley years. Everything was great until March, and then the wheels fell off. Every damn season.
 
The turning point for this team was the Montana road sweep. I think it gave them the confidence to change the trajectory of the season. Excited to see what these guys can do in the BSC tourney.

Trying to understand... are you saying he's a bust? Or that he's not a bust?

The jury is out for me. His two seasons have been among the worst in recent memory. We're 13-18 this year, so clearly things have been pretty poor so far. He's had a history of pulling things together in March, so maybe there's something still to play for--- of course, we all hope so. There is a benefit to the conference being as utterly terrible as it is right now in that you don't have to be too good to win it.

I think we'll win the BSC tournament. We can certainly beat any team in the league.

I think Riley took everything but the kitchen sink with him to WSU didn't he? Monson has to be given some time to rebuild and get his guys in. Before Monson, EWU hasn't hired someone from outside since Hayford I don't think. Maybe this win streak is him getting his guys in and coached up and his system implemented. Most losses weren't blow outs and were probably winnable games. Idk, I have not clue about basketball. I just like younger guys, they seem to be more hungry and energetic and more innovative when it comes to t he X's and O's.

Rebuilding needs to happen EVERY year now. The portal now makes every player a free agent every season plus NIL makes the rich get richer. A lot of good coaches are not adjusting well.
