Wk10 Prediction Thread Eags 48 @ Bears 13

What can be said about UNC's powerhouse offense and defense? Nothing. Those things don't exist.

Will say they are a better team now then 4 weeks ago against UND. UNC features a reasonable QB and a couple of nice receivers in #81 and #10. RB's, OL, DL, DB's are pedestrian at best. They do play on a grass field which may make them look slower.

Eastern's defense has kept BigSky opponents to 17 or less in every contest, so barring unforced errors, TO's and complete confusion, the Bears are not going to hang 40+ on the Eags. Offensively, EB is the starter and showed some maturity against Idaho. His ability to escape while looking to make the big play is a double edged sword, but fun as heck to watch. Looks like the team is aware that when it breaks down --Go Deep.

A little concerned about OL health and a lack of running game against Idaho. It should be addressed as a priority this week as nothing can help a young QB on the road as much as a good running game.

Not expecting too many surprises, UNC will likely try to put some pressure on EB early and run their fly sweeps to get their athlete's in the game. Eag's keep it simple this week, bring their lunch pail and go to work.

Eags 37 - UNC 9

UNC @ SUU highlights:

Alex Wesley is more than a nice receiver. He’s probably a top 5 in FCS with NFL size and talent (not sure about his speed).

UNC is improving, but it would take a total train wreck to lose this game. We'd have to have a repeat performance offensively like Weber State and 2017 levels of defense.

He's nice and the main target in that offense. If this was the older version of the Eastern D, would be more concerned but they haven't let the top player on the other team really beat them repeatedly in any given contest this season. It's been a team effort. Overall UNC offense is in the same class as Idaho's at 370 a game. Defense is 85th at 427 yds per game and 35 TD's. Eastern's given up 19 TD's.

Am sure there is a lot more if someone wants to look closer.

It's like EWU doesn't exist in these BigSky highlights. No rhyme or reason as to how these are laid out.

I remember there being issues with root sports and using highlights.

There doesn't seem to be anything positive to say about Root.

UNC averaged about 25 points the first 7 games and 42 points the last two games, granted bottom of the Big Sky teams but confidence builders. Also it would be Sr day so more motivation. The Eagles certainly should win but I would not be surprised if it is not a closer game than we expect.

I don't know about that! A professionally produced and thoroughly researched broadcast viewed around the region is pretty positive to me. Heck, I live in Texas and can watch via DirecTV. I'm a big fan of the Root partnership.

Very true if i remember right that last time we played at Greely the UNC stream on watchbigsky looked like my 3 year old was filming with my old flip phone. SWX and Root do a great job... hope its coverage is desent this week or I'll just listen to the GOAT Larry Weir. EAGS win 35-17.

His speed? He is a NCAA Track and Field All-American (Second team).

Winning on the road is always tough. This game will be more uncomfortable than the SUU and Idaho games but shouldn’t be anything like the road game against Weber.

31-20 Eags.
