Wk4 Prediction Thread EWU 70 vs. Cal Poly 17 BIG WIN

From the EWU release on this weekends game;

However, the Mustangs have an option attack not seen by the Eagle defense on a regular basis, and that has given EWU fits in the past. In fact, the last time the two teams met in Cheney in 2015, the Eagles needed overtime and a failed 2-point conversion by Cal Poly to prevail 42-41 in a game in which Eastern trailed by 15 in the fourth quarter. Cal Poly had 503 rushing yards in that game, including 121 on 30 carries by Protheroe.

Cal Poly was a 4-7 team in 2015.

You remember the 2011 triple overtime game in SLO. Holy smokes, what a game. We’ve had some good ones over the years.

Yeah other than the outcome that was a great game. We have played some great games against EWU, but I am hoping we can finally come out on the winning end of one of them. Here to another great game this weekend.

History bias isn't a part of my thoughts on the game. Have put up a good option team for example on how it is run and how it should be defended at the beginning of this thread. Fact is, Eastern has the type of athlete's and maturity to defend the option. Barring 2-3 big plays, assuming CP continues to play option no matter how much Eastern scores, this one shouldn't be close. Of course if Eastern commits 10-14 penalties and puts the rock on the ground 2 or 3 times, this one could be interesting. Can CP put that kind of pressure on the Eags to make this happen? Don't think so.

There's a reason to still play all the games, know CP will come to play and so will the Eags. May the best team win. :)

Hope the Eastern broadcast on Pluto has sound this time...

The problem with using the radio broadcast for audio- aside from the fact KXLY only covers Eastern Washington and North Idaho- is the radio is "real time," while the Pluto feed is usually on about a minute delay.

Interesting factoid, if you use the Big Sky TV service, it is only about 10 seconds delay. Still doesn't help with the audio, but is better quality than Pluto, which always seems to have problems.

Thanks Brother. Remembered that I switched over to WatchBigSky at half and that had sound. Love me some Larry too. Video dragged 2 minutes behind the radio broadcast last time. The Live Stats is ahead of both.

FSC Stats for fun:

Passing: #16 902 yds (CP didn't bother to look, something like 330 yds) Pucker factor on stun..

Scoring: #15 37.7/gm (CP ~21/gm)

Didn’t Rocky win the last fight with Clubber Lang? 😉

I think losses like the one in Pullman tend to light a fire under EWU guys. After all, it was a PAC-12 opponent & Gage has probably been ready to prove he’s not a 3 Int/game Qb since he got back to Cheney. Coach Best & the boys make a statement.. 45 -20 Eags!

That he did... his will is like a piece of iron. I always think of Eastern as Rocky, a champion looking for redemption. The bad guys almost always have the best lines.

sammamisheag, like that spread! thus a 41-17 victory seems apropos.
