Wow, new FBS Transfer WR!

The Hornets landed a drop-down WR who will be immediately eligible and is probably already haunting Kyle Monson's dreams.

T.J Knowles is a 6'8" 241 WIDE RECEIVER who transferred from USF. Kid ran a 4.6 40-yard dash.

You might want to mention that the USF in this case is South Florida. I had a feeling about this since my former position coach was their founding and two-time Offensive Coordinator (now with North Texas). But here in Superior Cali, folk might confuse that with U of San Fran.

Sounds like a good pickup, though. Thanks for the link!

Here's the highlight video that landed him in the Big East Conference. Read that he was homesick too...

Looks like a giant among boys in those videos. Seems to have deceptive speed too.

Seriously... Apparently he bounced around on the road to USF as a result of some homesickness and a couple car accidents...

But after watching this video, I would love to see things work out with T.J. He dwarfs DBs and is speedy for his size.

Good luck my friend!

With that size and speed, wonder why he's not playing tight end. He'd be a nightmare for a linebacker to cover. Against DB's he's beating them with size. Against linebackers he would get them on size and speed.

I was thinking the same thing. if he added 10-15 lbs he could be a pro prospect at tight end with a couple successful seasons of burning FCS LBs...

We never throw to the TE though, so that would have to change!

I see him playing as a possible flex TE in the middle of the field and then as an outside WR in the RedZone. His size (actually 6'6") will create matchup problems all day long on the short fade. He also looks tough to bring down. He does look a little slow off the ball (being pressed might be an issue), but decent once his stride gets going.

There must be something more to him, that more teams didn't take a chance on a 6'6" 240lb WR with 1500+ yards and 25 TD's coming out of HS....and he is an honor student to boot...maybe it's the lack of speed off the ball or maybe teams looked at him as a TE and he didn't want to switch positions...who knows, but it look like a a good pickup for us if utilized correctly.

Tall and athletic pick up that hopefully pans out to be a solid weapon. Nice addition.
