WSU QB Controversy

Word has it that Leggatt lost the job and he may even be quitting the team. Anyone know anything about this?

Also, I am hearing there is a chance we may pick up U of Alabama's starting QB from last year. He is tranferring now that Nick Saban has taken over as head coach. He is considering Weber and he really liked our campus.
 
This is hard to believe. Wilson led Ala in passing in spring practice and is the projected starter. It would make more sense for one of the other 5 QBs on their roster that may never get to take a snap at Ala.

I thought Mac named Leggatt the starter after spring ball. What could have changed?
 
Found this on an Ala page. This must be the guy you heard about. He is originally from CA. He was on scholarship at Ala and had other D-1A offers out of HS.

TUSCALOOSA | Sophomore quarterback Jimmy Barnes has decided to leave the
University of Alabama football team to pursue his career at another school.
Barnes will enroll at a Division I-AA school in the fall, but has yet to
decide which one. He has three years of eligibility remaining.
Barnes, who was second on the depth chart after Marc Guillon left school
midway through last season, wasn’t able to participate in contact drills
during spring practice.

Keep in mind all of this is just rumor and speculation at this point. WSU hasn't announced if Leggatt is not the man or quit the team at this point. Also we don't know for sure if anyone will be tranferring to WSU this fall.

It sounds like WSU will FINALLY have somebody who can throw the ball. We havn't had a real quarterback in a long time.

who would you say was WSU's last good quarterback?
 
Jamie Martin went to my high school (Arroyo Grande) and was a lot of fun to watch play. He brought the first CIF Championship to Arroyo Grande in 1987. He is also a class individual. If Barnes is close to the player that Jamie was, you got yourselves a good one.

Out of respect for the great player Martin was...I hope no one is really comparing the 2...at least not yet.
 
My dad taught marketing classes at wsu and Martin took a few from him. My dad really like him too. Martin even signed a football and a pic for my brother when my dad asked him to.

Can someone remind me how well wsu did the years we had Martin?
