WTF is going on?

Three players leaving, two coaches are out. Ryan Martin was the best coach on that staff and now he's gone? I'm assuming he got fired based on his tweets. Coach Hill is fucking this program up. He is the one that needs to get fired.

You have to think the HC is heaping a lot of pressure on himself. The success or failures of next season will fall squarley on his shoulders.

I'm not as eager to jump on BJ as fast as Beardown but what was going on with Coach Martin's tweets ??

The team underacheived last year (the last 2 years actually) so I'd rather shake things up than stand pat.

Does anyone know why Garnica left the program. Was he just unhappy with his playing time or did they take away his scholarship to make room for the new guys? He was a great shooter and really helped us sometimes when we needed a spark. I hope for his sake that he was not released and he will find a school that can use his talents. Addo really didn't help us that much and I don't think we will miss him that much, but as with Garnica I hope he made the decision on his own and was not forced out. As for Coach Hill I think he needs to work on his people skills if these guys chose to leave after 3 or 4 years in the program. He should have somehow made them feel more part of the program and found a way to keep them around even with limited playing time. If they all were dismissed for better players then that is another story and I can see that reasoning also.

I think it was just pt. All three of those players lost a significant amount of time. I guess with Garnica it just goes to show that Hill was never satisfied with him as a starting point guard, because Hill has now eluded to the fact that Svihovec will now be moved back to his natural position, which is shooting guard. I think what you got with Garnica is a guy who could shoot the ball, but was not a defensive presence and also got pushed around by bigger guards. Just look at him, he's a string bean. You've got to hit the weights in D1 basketball.

Geez Beardown, you took the words right out of my mouth! I too have been saying our guys need to hit the weight room for a couple of seasons now. And Paul G, as much as I loved his timely 3's, he turned the ball over a lot and in critical situations which I think hurt his status.

My concern is losing Ryan Martin as assistant coach. I was hoping he would be the guy that would replace Hill.

Just noticed that Logan Bean is gone as well. Interesting shake up. This is a big year for the Bears, with Barden, Osborne, and Unruh graduating... they have all the pieces in place to be really good next season, especially if Spence or Wilson are able to step in and give them really good minutes at PG.

Added a new Asst coach so obviously the assistants took the blame for the last couple years. If these new guys are upgrades then this is good. Their resumes seem stronger than who left so maybe the budget got a bump.

Yeah, the coach from South Dakota State is big time. No joke. I went over to their fan page and they're happy for him but at the same time many were hoping he would be their next head coach once their current one retires. The Bunnies have had real success the past few seasons and he's a major reason why. Hill is either a smart guy or really dumb. Smart if everything turns out and we exceed expectations, but dumb because Hanson could easily replace B.J. at the end of next year.

Which makes me wonder why he would leave a place he's been for a few years, where he played, and who have done better than us the last couple years? Money or he had some reason to think SD State was not his future?

It's kind of weird...
