He was a great shooter and really helped us sometimes when we needed a spark. I hope for his sake that he was not released and he will find a school that can use his talents. Addo really didn't help us that much and I don't think we will miss him that much, but as with Garnica I hope he made the decision on his own and was not forced out. As for Coach Hill I think he needs to work on his people skills if these guys chose to leave after 3 or 4 years in the program. He should have somehow made them feel more part of the program and found a way to keep them around even with limited playing time. If they all were dismissed for better players then that is another story and I can see that reasoning also.
Geez Beardown, you took the words right out of my mouth! I too have been saying our guys need to hit the weight room for a couple of seasons now. And Paul G, as much as I loved his timely 3's, he turned the ball over a lot and in critical situations which I think hurt his status.Beardown said:budbear said:Does anyone know why Garnica left the program. I think it was just pt. All three of those players lost a significant amount of time. I guess with Garnica it just goes to show that Hill was never satisfied with him as a starting point guard, because Hill has now eluded to the fact that Svihovec will now be moved back to his natural position, which is shooting guard. I think what you got with Garnica is a guy who could shoot the ball, but was not a defensive presence and also got pushed around by bigger guards. Just look at him, he's a string bean. You've got to hit the weights in D1 basketball.
