Those are some stellar offensive stats. They really are BAD. No wonder the QB jumped ship at the end of the season. Christensen must think his job is on the line if he had to go find another coach to help him install the offense that he wants. Now his starting QB is a pick of 2 freshmen. I hope our defense can cause some problems and some turnovers. If that happens, it would be a great chance for the Wildcats to get a W in Laramie. :thumb:

Wow...Christensen slammed Carter-Samuels "its better to have youth and talent rather than having experience and no talent." Yikes!! Didn't Christensen say that Carter-Samuels was the future of Wyoming football? Personally, I'd rather have an experienced QB who knows the system, and has proven his worth (MW Fresh of the Year) than a couple of Freshmen who don't know the system, and haven't proven anything on the field. It's looking bleak for the Cowboys.

Oh Wyo only had 65 Scholarship players on their roster last season?? Was that because of financial or coaching issues. What that tells me is that Wyoming will have a lot of new faces on their sideline this season, and probably a lot of JC players. This is proving a great opportunity to catch the Cowboys drunk and with their pants down looking for sheep or EGRIZZ members.

DC ran off some dead weight players who didn't fit his style of coaching, just like most new coaches. We lost a few player's with career ending injuries and a few for personal reasons but will get our numbers back up. As I said in another post ACS was a cancer on the team and our OC Arroyo sucked big time, neither will be missed. QB wise, were in the same position we were in the last time we played each other, only with more potential. One last thing, Wyoming's never lost to a FCS team, and won't this year. :twocents: :thumb: looking forward to Sept. and a good game.

Well here's hoping that Weber can break Wyo's unbeaten against FCS streak :thumb:

Wyoming head coach Dave Christensen on his team's potential starting quarterbacks: "I've seen one QB practice 15 times and the other never practice. I have no idea what's going to happen."

I would expect plenty of rushing attempts from the Wyoming offense in the season opener.

if they do go to a smash-mouth offense, it will be a good test for our defense! i think they're going to have to air it out to stay in the game, but we'll have to wait til game time :twocents:

Wyoming Coach Dave Christensen Names Starting QB

The Wyoming Cowboys have a starting quarterback, as head coach Dave Christensen announced Tuesday that freshman Brett Smith from Salem, Ore., will start the season opener versus Weber State on Sept. 3. Christensen decided to make the announcement Tuesday as the focus of practice turns to game preparation for Weber State.

Smith was the 2010 Gatorade Football Player of the Year in the state of Oregon in 2010, playing his high school football at West Salem High School in Salem, Ore. He was also named First Team All-State Class 6A by The Oregonian his senior season. Class 6A is the largest classification in the state of Oregon.

The table has been set for the Defense.....'fresh meat'....how hungry will they be?

Remember we had 7 INT's last time we played; that will NOT happen again :stir: :stir: :stir:
