Not playing this game!

What if I’m uncomfortable attending matches due to COVID-19?

So the city sponsored pro soccer team can gather freely according to the latest Sac County PubliK Health grand department?

What a bunch of BS! Might as well see if we can rent the uCdaVid stadium arent they on the road?

Go woke, go broke! How about proof of citizenship? This is a state funded event and I want my tax services for USA citizens only. I guess announced attendance will be the 2,000 sheeple who watch cnn?

Lot's of things to unpack here. This is BS and if Nelsen was a true leader he'd ignore this requirement and roll with the way things were going on not just this event, but other on campus events as well. I've been to some VB games and none of this is required...and that's indoors.

Another ball dropped by the Hornet admin. None of the games were expected to hit 10k in attendance so they were able to skate under the Sac County DPH requirements for outdoor events. Homecoming will exceed that and so now the admin/department look like idiots (which they are) for trying the "oh hey guys, vax passports please". They should have been in front of this the whole season...

...which would have allowed me to save some money and not participate to begin with. If this is the way going forward then I'll keep my money in my pocket and spend my time on something else. Fuck this tyranny.

I plan on firing off an email demanding a refund on the remainder of the season tickets. If I can't get one, not sure what I'll do for the rest of the games but I'm certainly done with in person games for all sports.

Glad this happened now. I was planning to donate to the Knapp Fund to get one of those kick ass "SAC" helmets and also purchase a couple of MBB and WBB season tickets. No way could I make all those games but I was planning to do it out of support for Katz and the new fancy WBB HC hire. Won't be doing any of that now unless they reverse this policy NOW.

Ball is in your court Nelsen and Orr. You stick with this policy and you can kiss my money goodbye. Expect an email within the next 24 hours.

Lastly, we're not even competent enough to solve the bathroom issue but now we're gonna staff multiple vax passport tents on gameday? This has a logistical shit show written all over it. :dunce:

You don’t have to get vaccinated to go to the game. Just have to have a negative test within 3 days prior to the game itself. If you tested positive, probably best not to be attending the game anyways. If you love the Hornets, go and support them!

NO! Next is you “just” have to wear this gold star to show the clapping seals that you are one they should target! I am not an MD but you know what I did with spare time last year? I read autopsy studies, studies on the virus, treatments, etc. the risk of catching Covid is very low outdoors.

We are well past herd immunity levels, every time we turn the crank on the Jack in the box, a new clown pops up.

Enough is enough. Rant over.

It's not getting through the door that's the issue. Anybody with half a brain can fake or buy a piece of paper to get the stupid bracelet at the vax passport tent to gain entry. They aren't scanning QR codes (yet) so all this is just social programming and virtue signaling.

If anybody has really been "following the science" on this virus, you know how absurd it is to only require a test for some and not for others so there goes the "keep everyone safe" narrative...especially outdoors. It started with sporting events and concerts (we're late to the show), then moved to places of employment (currently in progress) and next is basic necessities like shopping centers, grocery stores (already in progress overseas) and access to healthcare (so much for the "healthcare is a right" narrative).

This whole pandemic has been all about government control, anyone claiming otherwise is being disingenuous or is just too stupid to realize what has been going on. Anyone that is old enough to have live through the government power grab and erosion of liberties after 911 in the name of "safety" has no excuse for not seeing what is happening.

Totally agree with you all. This is nonsense. I’m not attending KINGS games because of it and now it looks like I won’t be attending Hornets games until further notice. My wife and I were planning on going this Saturday too, until reading this.

Looks like HS football games on Friday nights will be the only events we attend until this madness ends, if it ever does. We went to the Folsom-Rocklin game last Friday and it was awesome. No vax status check, no mask BS. It was awesome!

SD, I completely subscribe to your gov’t control take. I’ve been saying the same since this started. We’ll continue to have variants a-z until the end of time so the radicals can continue to govern citing “public safety” in order to control the masses whenever they need to. Until the masses get tired of it and/or see through the ruse, this isn’t likely going away any time soon unfortunately.

I’m vaccinated and hate that this requirement is being put in place. SD is completely right about the admin “fumbling” the hall here. They’ve known about this requirement for a while, and only announced it and plan to to implement it because they think we’ll go over 10k this weekend.

I think they’re in for a rude awakening… with this requirement and rain on the way get ready for an attendance dud. Let’s just hope the team doesn’t lay an egg.

Because I want to support this team, and 12 and under don’t need a Vax or test, I’ll probably still go with the family . I respect the coaches and staff for making it through 2020, and I remember how much it sucked to have no football, so I don’t want to punish THEM.

I’ll still make my opinion known that this requirement is insane, especially outdoors. Too bad the Athletic Department doesn’t have the moolah to pay the fines and to tell Sac PH to stick it where the sun don’t shine…

This is a defining event for the University as it shows that it is truly a gussied up version of the local communist DMV office. All properly programmed state employees, and they adhere strictly to the socialist agenda or get punished/identified.

Any business dominate mind set would be sounding sirens at this requirement. Which is why the USL Soccer team isnt putting up this mandate. Or Kings, River Cats, UCFE, Folsom HS......

No wonder this school still has shitty facilities and always will. No donor in their right mind would support a socialist, woke university, me included.

The school doesnt really care how many show up and the vast majority of funding will still be from the taxpayers, so you will like what we give you, or leave. Forcing your paying customers to adhere to a tyrannical mindset is where I draw the line.

Remove the stupid Adidas banners on the visitors section and people can spread out three to six feet for social distancing. I am vaccinated and I do not need Gov No Nuts to tell me what I can freely do or not do.

FvCK Kalifornia
So blessed to be out of that shitbox.

Lol I just want to our Hornets team to be supported by this chat group (without having to get vaccinated if one chooses not to) because I know how passionate we are, and you call me a clown  classy.

Sorry to hear this news.

Hope I'm wrong, but this extra barrier and logistic to get in to the game might prevent the crowd of getting to 10K this Saturday or the two home games in November (November games are historically poorly attended except for the Causeway when we host).

It is so easy to spread out in Hornet Stadium when it rarely sees over 50 percent capacity. And see that people still wear masks if they choose.

just not a good move and hope it can be reversed quickly. High temp. for Saturday is supposed to be 61 degrees

I called this morning, busy so I gave the message about being disappointed, etc, hoping they will change their mind, will wait til end of day for decision. I got a call back 2 hours later to cancel my tix, which I did. The first they said. Most likely not the last I said. I have not decided on keeping up on stuff but certainly at this point for foreseeable future attendance is out for any sport.

Look, I get all the different feelings, emotions, opinions about all the vaccine/masks stuff.. but let's not bark up the wrong tree. Let's not hurt our guys by not showing up and supporting them. It's not their fault. This goes way higher than our players, coaching staff, AD, school president. This is coming down from the County and state! Yes, we may have gotten away with it for the first couple of games, but we should we thankful that we did. I believe UC Davis has been this way for all of their home games already. Let's do what we have to do and show our guys we are there to support them!!! This is starting to shape up to be a great season, with a clear road to a 2nd conference championship (as long we take care of business). Let's go support our guys!!!!!

Believe it or not it is possible to decide to not attend the games in person and still cheer for the Hornets. Don't misconstrue the angst at awful policy and poor planning/communication of the University/athletic department with a lack of support for the program and players.

Terrible timing, especially after Montana win and the potential for more interest. I've attended both home games, I guess I will spend the rest of the season cheering on the Hornets from home. It will be interesting to see how this affects attendance.

The key seems to be attendance of 10,000 or more, we haven't come close to that this season. It would make more sense at this point to simply count the presold tickets per game and just limit sales to 10,000.
The verification of tests/ vaccine passports will be a joke.
