Your Papers, Please

Southern California ALL events ask for you to have your paperwork. I attended PAC12 game and only required a MASK to enter.

Once in seats nobody was walking around to 50K fans asking them to mask up. About 10% of fans wore masks.

I assume this will be the same scenario. But SAC ST can’t put that on a Website!!!! Go have FUN!!!!

Go HORNETS!!!

I really don't know how viable that religious exemption is going to be for the long term, SD. I've heard that it's off the table in WA (and perhaps in OR and MA, which also have state-wide mandates), and Newsom may well be considering the same, despite the fact that he's had his hand slapped by SCOTUS for violation of religious rights on many occasions linked to the on-going pandemic. He seems to think that he's beyond all accountability simply because he succeeded in manipulating the recall election. Newsom may well have a comeuppance at the next regularly-scheduled election, however...IF too many Conservatives don't leave the state before then....

Seriously, what world do you live in?

Very few of these "mandates" are, or ever will be "enforceable". But that's not the point. The point is institutions are going along with this nonsense and at some point there has to be push back so the "powers that be" understand that this is not acceptable.

I have no doubt if people really want to get through the gates, they can by either faking documents or just ignoring the vax check altogether and just going straight to the gate with ticket in hand. I don't expect the ticket checkers and ushers to give 2 shits about who is vaxed and who isn't and/or who has a mask on and who doesn't.

I've been to VB games where "masks are required". $1 for a bag of popcorn and now you're "actively eating" and don't need to wear it. All of these mandates are nonsense, and there are plenty of loopholes for non-compliance. But again, at a certain point enough is enough.

Sad that this board has turned into a political gripe fest. More time is spent on this than what is turning into an excellent season.

While I agree, it is sad, you should fairly acknowledge that those “griping” about political issues are doing so in reaction to others that brought politics into it. There’s a gigantic difference between the proactive and the reactive.

We’d all love to be talking just about sports and Hornet football. Unfortunately a faction of people in control of gov’t and in control of athletic activities are making that impossible.

Blame should be focused on them, not those reacting to their decision making. As fans, we’d love to be attending games w/o all the nonsense. Judging by the email posted above from a member of the men’s basketball team, at least some players would love to just play in the games w/o all the nonsense.

Like us, that player is simply reacting to the politics being inserted into this by others.

I only bring up the POSSIBILITY, SD. Here in the Central Valley, there are a LOT of people dissatisfied with Newsom's so-called "leadership." Will that be enough to overcome uber-lib Los Angeles and San Francisco (and to some degree Sacramento)? Perhaps not. But it's a dream that's perhaps on a level with the Hornets beating the Griz in Missoula. That just happened. I have to have faith that THIS can happen, too. Maybe it happens and maybe it doesn't. But I have to keep the faith, because he's destroying our beautiful state....

I attended PAC 12 games this season. Only require to wear a mask at the gate upon entry.
Watch any televised games this season and it’s just to gain access.
Would be sabotage SAC STATE turn into Dept of Health police. Not SAC STATES job to be in politics.
Go Hornets

My comments have been removed from this twice now!

Who is the person who removes posts from this site?

They are back…. Enjoy the game!!! Support our team! Wear mask at GATE and be thankful we have such a great team right now.
Decades of mediocre teams historically. Finally a winner!!! Support them!
The masked are mandated from politicians in state of CA. Not football team that needs support!

Update on this:

The call to implement the vax passports at football games was 100% Nelsen's. Sac County DPH's Dr. Kasirye asked Nelsen to enforce the vax passports "because other universities in other counties are doing it" and Nelsen folded. Total bitch move by him.

The athletic department was looking at options to void being a "mega outdoor event" (such as limiting ticket sales to less than 10k) but Nelsen told them to implement the vax passports. Of course the irony is that no where near 10k showed up to Homecoming.

Now other on-campus events (athletic or otherwise) are at the mercy of SCDPH's whims thanks to Nelsen's fecklessness on this issue.

Thanks for the update on this. Nelsen has been good for Athletics overall, but he folds like a Kmart lawn chair for every little woke virtue signaling bullshlt that comes his way

Is Komagum going to lawyer up and file a lawsuit or just ride it out and enter the transfer portal again?
