With all the back-n-forth lately about the basketball program, and specifically with the ability and expectations of Coach Rahe, I'd like to know where the forum feels RR rates in a satisfaction scale. It seems to me like several are reading more into what some are saying and it seems to go both ways. Maybe those who haven't been willing to engage in the "discussions" will vote too and we'll have a better overall feel of what the "fans" and "non-fans" alike really think about RR. If the poll statements don't match your views well, then just rate him on a 1 to 9 scale, with 1 being the best and 9 the worst.

I'll admit it. I voted #1 because of the "unicorns and rainbows baby" part of the question. Longtime did you forget your longin password again? You were another name last Fall, then became longtimecat and now longtimcat. Come on dude! Write your password on a piece of paper and put it in your wallet if you are going to forget it.

Instead of marking yes or no did she write back telling you that she was young and inexperienced. But she was going to keep scratching and clawing and would one day be able to answer the question? Was her last name Rahe?

No that one did check no, the one that eventually did check yes is one fantastic woman who takes damn good care of me.And one who I love going home to everyday after work maybe that's why I'm so positive in life.

Maybe what we actually have in Rahe is a 4, and all the bickering lately is between the 3's and 5's?

As someone who voted 3, I'd be willing to admit this is likely true

And I'll take credit for #4 getting my vote...always have been a moderate, in the middle type, like setting on the fence, laughing at both sides -- and especially myself!

Probably should have voted #5, but I still think Rahe is a good, not average, coach that really needs to work on improving upon some disappointing weaknesses...not sure if he's willing to, at least hasn't shown such to me in recent years. Like what was noted in an earlier post, he seems to have lost a little of the fire & desire he had for the program his first few years as HC. (Yes, I know that's arguable, just my opinion, faithful supporters!) The down side of a 8 yr extension (& likely longer if he's not ready to retire) can lessen the desire to, as long as the $$ donors & folks in charge are happy/satisfied. :-(

At least to his credit Rahe is modest. At the 50th Anniversary - WSU Coaches doings, Abegglin, Motta, Johnson, Rahe, etc., were sitting at a table together, the SE sports writer (forget who) stated something to the effect that here at the table are the greats of Wildcat BB coaches...Rahe was reported to take exception to that, stating to the effect... you must mean the rest of these guys, not me!

Haha, true. I have absolutely no problems what so ever with Rahe as a person. I think WSU could and has had worse and could and has had better. I think his salary is too large for being a very good recruiter and pretty average coach and I'm no fan of the long term contract. I don't like his interviews as they are always the same if he's talking about the games and performance, and the excuses are worthless words. My biggest knock on Rahe, and I've stated it before, is he doesn't make me believe he has a winning fire or much concern for losses and that's tough to except.

Did RR vote a 2 for himself? Wow.. someone is blind to the current state of the program.

I've stayed out of the Rahe conflict and now I've had a chance to vote (as we all are). So I hope we can put this behind us.

But on my way out of what I hope is a closing door I will say this ... this comment is totally disrespectful on your part WSUfan. I get the negativity, you've made your case and you've been beating the drum a long time. You've made good points and at times you've strained a bit. But I understand where you stand, which I know you feel is important. However, there is no excuse for any of us to take a shot at someone who voted in a poll just because we don't agree with their perception. That type of stuff belongs in other threads.

Just my opinion.

The overall negativity needs to be pulled back a couple of notches. I love the conversation and the activity. But let's state our opinions and have respectful discussions. Essentially there are no rules for how we treat each other. Unfortunately sport message boards are weird things. They can spiral out of control quickly and become useless. When they do, people leave. We don't want people to feel uncomfortable and leave. We want more people to join the discussion. Every opinion needs to be respected.

Personally I have great respect for all of the posters that come here (and your opinions) because we have a commonality and passion for Weber State basketball. Only we can maintain some sort of discussion standard among ourselves. If I wanted to hang with a bunch of idiots I'd go to some Ute board.

I guess the two of us should hang out as I could have written this! I'm the second vote at #4.

BTW, thanks to whoever put this together.
