Portland State has been busy in-state earlier than ever, getting commitments from four players the Vikings feel they can build around – 5-11, 170-pound quarterback Connor Kavanaugh from Lincoln, 5-11, 195-pound safety Greg Carradine from David Douglas and offensive linemen Chris Weitzel (6-6, 290) from Gresham and Jasper Croome (6-6, 240) from Lake Oswego.
“We have a chance to have a great recruiting class,” says PSU coach Tim Walsh, who is looking for junior-college line help on both sides of the ball. “It’s going to be a real good in-state class, for sure.”
