Zo is saying all the right things. Respect for his vision to be the head coach here 10 years ago kept pursuing, and finally got the job on the 4th try. Roster retention is his #1 goal. See how he does.

When I see the GM Zach Porter, OC , DC departing I see extra capacity in our budget to make good things happen.
Hopefully Admin might get creative and find some magic and see if TT still wants to be around football in a hybrid role? TT for GM and OC playcalling. He could be paid well with Both Titles.
Help us build back to championship form!
It might not be of interest to TT to be a GM / OC but it’s worth the try! He could only say “no thanks” but if you don’t try you never know.
I’d be ecstatic and thankful if we could get TT back into our program in some capacity.
I remember Nevada Reno got creative w contract of Chris Ault as a FB coach / AD roles that he moved between in various capacities to keep him involved.

The UNR situation isn’t even close and there is ZERO chance that Troy is coming back as anything other than the HC and obviously Wood chose a different path. Time to let it go.
As far as the assistants and the GM…no problem. Coach Zo is busy solidifying his staff with better choices.

Agree with your assessment, and also glad to hear Coach Zo is building a staff.
I think it’s pretty clear that Zo will be the face and the CEO as he stated, but that this program will have a couple good opportunities for up and coming OC/DC play callers (I hope). Seems like the plan will be for Zo to bring in the toys and for the coordinators to play with them. Ho, ho, ho!

It'll be interesting to who Coach Carter builds his staff with. Aside from the coaches that have already been named there are a few guys who, based off of on the field production, I wouldn't mind seeing return. Ironically, Coach Carter poached Quincy Craig from PSU when Coach Patterson was there last year so maybe there's a connection between those two. The defensive line was the best it has been against the run and pass since the 2019 season so I wouldn't mind if those coaches are in consideration for retention. We'll see how it shakes out but I'm confident Coach Carter will assemble a stellar staff.

If you didn’t speak to TT. Maybe you spoke with his agent? When people get creative positive things sometimes can happen.
Better than not trying at all.
BTW ZO has a great attitude. I like him as I think most people do, I just hope and pray that he is successful as a D1 HC and that we can sustain consistent winning .750 or better would be solid start.

I did speak with Troy…multiple times. If I was guessing I’d clearly indicate that it was just an unfounded opinion.
