Re: What incentive?

I'm thinking the spring schedule doesn't make sense and that Sac St opting out is the right move, PSU should consider as well. No bodybag games to bolster the budget, no fans in stands to generate gate revenue and no media rights money that amounts to anything. In short, why burn a year of the athl...

Re: Spring football progress

I forgot that the Ducks and Beavs both had scrimmages last weekend. Lane and Benton counties must both be in Phase 3 already. I think Multnomah County is still in Phase 2 which means we can't practice. Multnomah County is only in Phase 1, this is why Portland State should drop out NOW from Spring f...

Re: Spring football progress

The Spokane Spokesman-Review Reports: "Several Big Sky teams have started full-go practices in helmet and pads to make up for lost spring 2020 practices, including Weber State, Montana, Montana State, Northern Arizona and Southern Utah." So, what's up with the Vikings?

Re: What might have been-9-19 PSU at Oregon State

What my crystal ball showed had the game been played today as scheduled. Viks wins the toss and defer to the second half. Beavers take the ball to start the game and transfer QB Tristan Gebbia leads them down the field in a drive taking a little over five minutes, culminating in a 12-yard touchdown...

So no Fall 2020. Maybe Spring 2021? Autumn 2021? Yes, looking grim, grim indeed.

Re: LOOKING GRIM

Last week I was in Montana for my father's funeral and I heard from the radio that a home football game in Missoula pumps 3 million dollars into the local economy. I'm sure it is similar in places like Bozeman, Flagstaff, Cedar City and San Luis Obispo. Here, probably not as much as PSU football do...

Re: YEAH, LOOKS LIKE WERE GOING TO HAVE A SEASON.

Recall mentioning how some sports were going to convert from conference schedules to tighter regional schedules. That’s not really been announced yet, but I hear more rumors of that... and the Colonial has opened the door to that possibility... perhaps even for football. I like regional scheduling....

Re: YEAH, LOOKS LIKE WERE GOING TO HAVE A SEASON.

Well, I guess PSU football just lost about $1 m dollars: https://www.dailynews.com/2020/07/10/pac-12-moves-to-conference-only-schedules-for-football-fall-sports/ Most of the contracts are guaranteed. Viks get the money regardless if the games are played or not. Rumor is that, instead of buying out ...

Re: YEAH, LOOKS LIKE WERE GOING TO HAVE A SEASON.

Portland State University has put the return of athletes on hold until Multnomah County enters Phase 1 of reopening. “We’re hoping for July 1. We’ll phase football players in first. Local players then players from out of town," said athletic director Valerie Cleary. https://www.kgw.com/article/sport...
