Re: Pluto TV through Xfinity

When we would visit my grandfather (Dad's father) on an autumn Saturday back in the 70s, he'd have the TV game on and the Oregon State radio broadcast on his radio (he had the earphone to keep that quiet). My father (the one who actually went to Oregon State) was perhaps a little unnerved by that. I...

Re: Pavilion

One way to look at this: the women's program brought Tennessee to Portland. That's already an improvement. That happened to be a women's attendance record here. I can guess being upset that it costs more than $10 to sit within 7 rows of the floor (unless you're a student) is probably an issue. The d...

Re: The Future

On one hand, I believe the San Jose State faculty made a similar recommendation while I lived down there... 27 years ago. I also recall, at some point after (with thanks to those silly early interwebs) that San Diego State faculty were at least giving strong consideration to same. At least in San Jo...

Re: 2020 schedule

Considering how much Sac fans complain about their "bleacher feature," you'd think they'd want to travel to a place with substantive restrooms like Hillsboro.

This item may be scarier than any "state of Viking football" screed. https://www.bozemandailychronicle.com/sports/bobcats/montana-state-in-works-to-potentially-offer-cost-of-attendance/article_baa98c14-dbeb-582a-a8b5-77c782c9d20b.html Not that there's unanimity among Cat fans as to whether such a pr...

Re: Realignment Du Jour

I will not get excited until Boise State commits... and ask a few conferences how that's gone sometime.

Re: Idaho State/Weber

Two home games coming up for the Viks. Saturday against Idaho State and Monday against Weber. Both games at the Pavilion and both starting at 7pm. Need to win both to get back in the middle of the conference race. BTW, the Blazers play Monday night at home as well so there will be no sighting of a ...

Re: The Future

After sifting through all the options, I'll say this: the only thing that ends in four years is the lease in Hillsboro. That's the one thing that's easy to renew.

I can't see PSU committing to anything else.

Re: The Future

What you missed, part 1: The best solution would be for PSU to stay in the Big Sky, play football games in a venue close to campus and the center of town, field a competitive team and hope that would lead to more fan appeal. But if you take Providence Park out of the equation, there isn’t such a ven...

Montana State

The record shows that Montana State conducted an early beat down and Portland State’s late surge was too little, way too late. Eh, Montana State is beatable by this Portland State team. (1) Jordan Stotler needs only to change shots inside, not overplay the block. One less foul in Q1 and it’s a very ...

Ken Goe follows up the Edward Hershey opinion piece with his own few hundred words.

While I might be suffering confirmation bias visa vie his mention of No Football, No Big Sky, it is noticed that he pretty much whispered GNAC.

Re: Hillsboro stadium

The T2 schedule is out. How it looks against Portland State's home schedule in September and October: 9-2: T2 v Orange County 9-12 (would PSU add a game here?) 9-20: T2 v El Paso 9-26: PSU v Montana State 10-4: T2 v Oklahoma City 10-10: T2 v Los Angeles (Galaxy 2... last regular season home game) 10...

Re: Billings to ENMU

From the Albuquerque article... When reached at his Portland office Monday, Billings said he and his wife liked the change in pace Portales would give them and a change to a location where the university was the community’s focal point. I’ll leave aside the “unquoted quote” from the newspaper (and l...

Re: N Colorado @ PSU

With the system Portland State runs, that hot start was destined to get evened out a bit. Shooting percentages tend to find their level for both teams. One wonders why that has to include as many 3-footers as it did for Portland State. What PSU did was stay in the heads of the UNC bombers. That brou...

Re: N Colorado @ PSU

Northern Colorado: averaging 11 made 3s per game so far (at 39% shooting from out there). Some impressive wins, some interesting "moral victories," and a loss to Gardner Webb. Losing by 24 to Texas (who is virtually always athletic) kind of tells the story... don't let 'em breathe from the arc.
