Re: Northridge

And also, for our coaching kibizter Vicarious, Kay and Torres each had 5 assists. Fine for me on point guarding.

Northridge

Nice ending to the pre-conference prelims. The starting line up is set: four freshmen and a sophomore. We won all stats except free throws and turn overs; our bench beat theirs 16-6. Sure, Northridge is struggling, but I'll take it.

Re: 2016 SCHEDULE

An observation - only Montana and MSU can afford to escape playing an FBS team, but so did NCU. But the Montanas also often play a D-II.

For a team starting four freshmen and a sophomore, not bad! It's fun seeing this new team come together. Now for Seattle.

Re: 2016 SCHEDULE

I agree, Bigsky. But it's a matter of money - we'd probably have to pay for a flight for any FCS team. SUU may not be impossible - they'll be breaking in a new quarterback and replacing a couple other outstanding seniors. And San Jose might not be impossible. Sure, they're playing in one of the doze...

Re: 2016 SCHEDULE

With that schedule, it's possible, though I'd be happy with 7-4. Let's see how recruiting goes. How good is San Jose? Western Washington is no pushover.

LOL You have a point. Our fan base is hardly Citadel's. Not to mention Montana's.

Re: Northern Iowa

A few scarce voices talking about the UNI game. Funny. Reading AGS and other national forums, it's as if PSU doesn't exist even though it's playoffs. I suppose I'm not surprised. The forums are very heavily biased to the East Coast. They know about Montana and no one else. And of course, we've been ...

I hope PSU keeps up its turn-over free game. UNI is good at punching the ball out of the runner's hands.

Re: Playoffs!!!

At first glance, looks like we have an edge over NIU. But only an edge, and it's play off time. Kuresa will probably have to go to the air. Can we stop their ground game?

Texas Rio Grande

We put it together pretty well today, beating T-Rio Grande 79- sixty something. Pineiro came out of nowhere - most of the team is new and comes out of nowhere -scoring 24 with 14 rebounds. Forte did his usual 16 and Spickerman an unusual 14. Better to note: 90% on free throws and 23 assists. They're...

Re: 2016 schedule

I guess we're stuck with two FBSs for the duration. And I'll never take SUU for granted again. But yes, on the whole it does look like an easier schedule than this year.I wonder what DII we'll slide in?

Re: Ken Goe story in OLive

1. They're anticipating the playoffs; as long as we're in the running they'll cover us. 2. Barneyball and the interim coach is a warm and fuzzy down home story line, rather like high school football. 3. I doubt Goe simply chose to cover the game; it was an editorial decision. 4. We'll get at least a...

Re: Viking Tales: Final Look At PSU-SUU Showdown

We committed a season record penalties for the game, but....they threw 3 interceptions and dropped a pass for two. A messy win, like many we've had this year. There have been many in the BSC this year. Talk about parity! I thought we'd be lucky to bed 5-6, and look at us, 8-2. We may lose to EWU, bu...

Re: PSU @ Grand Canyon

Lost to Grand Canyon by 10. We led in most categories except - big except - assists. We had 3 assists total??! We shoot ok - we just don't do it as as team. And fouls - they had 20 more free throw points than we did. We lost it fouling.

Re: Gonna be a lonnnngggg season for WBB

And FYI - on the roster we have 5 freshmen and 6 sophs. a young team, and none of them have played together before. And two of the sophs are benched this year by transfer rules. One of them is 6'2", one is 5'11". As I said, rebounding is going to be a problem.

Re: Gonna be a lonnnngggg season for WBB

Not quite "blown out" - we lost by ten. All new faces, it'll take time to put them together. Freshman Kay picked up 26 points, a good shooter. What killed us were the rebounds. We're not a tall team. We shot .360 as a team - that's got to improve. Go Viks!
