Re: Next coach?

As long as I've been around PSC/U (amazing, that's 52 years) we've had moans about media coverage of PSU, and I've done my share of them. BUT face it. The issue is profit, and its only become clearer. The Oregonian blatantly covers UO/OSU because Pac12 sells ads. It's big business. If they were to c...

Re: Softball 2017

We beat UNLV 8-6 in the last game of the tournament. That's how we win this year, I guess - by scoring 8 runs or more. Now, gulp,we play UO in a doubleheader.

Softball 2017

Ah, the miseries of youth! A largely freshman softball team means error after error, weak pitching, and loss after loss. Painful to watch. But they'll learn. I hope. We haven't had much luck recruiting good pitchers. The Sophomore/freshman basketball team reaching the semis this year showed how it c...

Tournament!

We played good consistent ball against NAU this afternoon. After winning by a total of two points in our 2 regular season games we took this one by a solid 11. Interesting line up, using Corey 18-20 minutes. Cece did her usual rebounds - she's a pleasure to watch. Bolston was heavily guarded, but Re...

UM/MSU redux

We did a tidy job this weekend cleaning up the Montana gangs. Next week we have a good chance of picking up two games on the road - SUU and NAU. Only two left after that, both at home. The ladies, all freshmen and sophomores, are really developing well!

Good game last night. We lost, but not for lack of free throws - we shot FT at 70%. Maybe Kennedy could give Geving some points about how to teach FTs?

And you're not much better, Broadway. How about some constructive criticism, beyond simply shooting the coach?

Welcome - I guess - to our forum, Kerry. Talk about wild coach rants, yours takes the cake. Crawl back under your rock. Your sneers are the last thing our team needs.

Re: Recruiting pays off

And now we've got all the wins. The team continues to improve - great win over Sac, with Bolston and Rielly leading the way as usual. We have a good chance to take both the next two games. We're now in the middle of the pack.

Re: Sacramento State @ PSU

Against Sacramento we posted 78% on FT, 50% on 2s, 36% on 3s. Looks pretty good to me. It's a vast improvement over last year's team, which is all I ask. Good chance we'll take UNA and SUU. Go Viks!

Forget the fancy names. "High access" is what we've been from the beginning, and I for one am proud of it.

Recruiting pays off

Kennedy's last year's red shirt recruits, sitting on the bench all year because of transfer rules, have come off the bench with a vengeance this year. Rielly's averaging over 20 points in the first three games, and Bolston hit over 20 last night against Seattle. We're sitting at 2-2 right now, not b...

Re: Volleyball 2016

Don't know if any noticed, but PSU volleyball is headed back the the Big Sky Tournament next week. For a team made up of one senior and all the rest sophs and freshmen, they've done pretty well this year. Not sure if they'll get past the semis, but it augurs well for next year. Pati Anae, the senior...

Re: Big Sky Attendance for October 1

Good points. I've been following volleyball. Last year we had only one returning starter; this year we have four, and it shows. The team this year is mostly freshmen and sophomores and we're starting the season better than we have in the last 3-4. Yes, there's some inconsistency but that's to be exp...

Re: Southern Utah

We're playing with a very young defensive line, and Santiago's out. SUU will score. Will Keisur and Penn, two experienced players, get in the game? If not, it will be interesting to see how the replacements do.

Re: Volleyball 2016

As we go in to conference play this weekend, we don't look too bad. BSC stats: as a team, we're 1st in Assists, 2nd in kills, 3rd in aces, 4th in hitting; however, we're 8th in blocks and digs, and 10th in opposition hitting. As individuals, Anae is 1st in kills and points, Clark is 3rd in assists a...

Re: Volleyball 2016

We dropped a match to Boise State yesterday 1-3, then came back today to beat Arizona State, a Pac-12 team, 3-1. We now stand at 8-3. We have Davis tomorrow. I'm anxious for conference play to begin. Weber State now stands at the head of the pack, unbeaten at this point, but they haven't been playin...

Re: Volleyball 2016

We added a win against Riverside this past weekend. We're now running strong at 7-2. Beating Utah State and Colorado eases the agonizing over UW football. Now for Boise State. Best volleyball players in the Sky this week for Bojanovic and Erin to add to Pati Anae two weeks ago. This is a young team??!

Re: Volleyball 2016

The Viking volleyballers are rolling along. First they took SE Louisiana in three sets, then then beat Utah State, the host of the tournament, in 5 sets. Impressively, they lost the first two sets then came back to win the next three. Anae was as usual the leading OH, with 25 kills in the Utah match...
