The PAC/MWC Dominoes Begin to Fall

There is no traction to be had.

Absolutely nothing has been physically done to improve other than to hire an unproven carnival hawking HC.

And someone who can navigate X and Facebook with a camera.

This is a disingenuous statement that overlooks the investment and efforts made by Dr. Wood and his team. No matter how pie in the sky the PAC pursuit was, there are tangible items that resulted from this campaign. Dr. Wood shot his shot to better the profile of this University. While he puts his foot in his mouth from time to time, I have no problem with the vision and the overall effort that was made.

As an outsider.....
The hubris and bluster of the Sac PR campaign results in a "serves them right" attitude from some when things don't go as Sac planned.

I'm not necessarily one of those people, because I want Sac to reach the FBS space so Davis can follow into it. But I can understand the push back and negative comments.

Sac does need a "win" at this point. I agree.
Getting to the season and winning a couple games can't happen fast enough.....

Far better to have a guy who's "doin to much" (as my teens say) than an AD sitting on their hands.

No one asked your fucking opinion douchebag. Get the fuck off this board.

The Wilton Rancheria Tribe that owns the Sacramento Republic have committed to pay 1.75 million to partner with the city towards construction of the Railyards Soccer Stadium. They are also Sac State Alums and supporters of our athletic program.

The Railyard Stadium construction is stalled by protests over building more affordable housing in the railyards. Why not reach out to the tribe and see if they would be interested in partnering with Sac State to build a stadium on campus for the Republic and Hornets to use?

Dr. Wood mentioned that the proposed stadium would be joint use football/soccer/rugby, could be a win for both sides. It always seemed kind of odd to build two new similar sized stadiums 6 miles apart, instead of one nice stadium that the whole community could use.

Yeah, we've discussed those options here quite a bit. I know a lot of folks here don't want Hornet Stadium to double as a professional soccer space, and I get that. I would be onboard with a public/private partnership if it helps get the ball rolling. The hesitancy seems to be on the Republic side, they want their own economic deal.

The facility would HAVE to be on campus. Some things to think about are the additional cost and wear and tear of natural grass. You would not be able to have Sprint Turf with all the football lines, logos, etc. The Republic would not go for that. Natural grass would be sweet, but a significant ongoing expense to maintain.
