Game 11: (RV) Sac State (6-4, 4-2 BSC) vs. Idaho (4-6, 2-4 BSC)

What a brutal first half. Wasn't expecting a 6-3 field goal kicking contest.

Williams has been terrible. We should be up by much more than 3. The defense has held up better than expected thus far.

My biggest question though is...did Golden 1 only sponsor the first downs for the first quarter? Since the second quarter started, it has been "Sacramento State first down"

The defense played well.

Are they a better road team?

Williams redeemed himself. Seems to pass well when the game is on the line and he has to pass. Nevada, Montana, tonight. Tough to figure him out.

Jeezus. Which team are you rooting for? Nothing but negativity from you most the time.

IDK where you got that image from, because not one of the available replays showed anything that clear. Probably a photoshop job from an Idaho fan.

Regardless, even if the call on the field was wrong — they couldn’t confirm and reverse it based upon any of the available replays. And there’s no guarantee that the Hornets wouldn’t have still thrown a TD pass on the next play or two from the 20 yard line, as they converted 4th and 13 with a 20 yard pass just 2 plays earlier.

And if people are going to focus on bad calls that affect outcomes, every single game is littered with dozens of them spread throughout. We can start and end with holding penalties that occur pretty much every single play of every game but are subjectively called (and not called) throughout.

Idaho, their fans, and their HC can go kick rocks.

Worst half of offensive football in a long long while.

They moved the ball well, but just continue to make too many mistakes with drive killing penalties and questionable play calls.

The fire drill FG attempt at the end of the half was completely avoidable. Coming off back-to-back timeouts, the players should have been much better prepared to handle that situation.

On 3rd down, they’d have had a better chance to get everyone back to the LOS to spike the ball than to try to switch out players and rush the FG attempt.

And what type of play call was that with :18 remaining and no times outs? Was it a QB jump pass from the 17 yard line or a designed QB draw?? Whatever the hell it was supposed to be was high risk and they clearly weren’t prepared to kill the clock immediately after.

If they had managed that situation better and also elected to kick FG’s on their two turnovers on downs, even just 2 FG makes out of 3 has them only needing a FG at the end of the game. 3 for 3 has them icing the game with a 2 score lead.

Despite all the gaffes, the good news is they found a way to get it done. Doesn’t matter how now. It’s still #7 in the W column.

Now go get #8, a Causeway win and hopefully a postseason birth.

There’s a better guarantee that without caution to the wind cavalier play calling (two 4th down red zone stops and keystone cops fire drill blocked FG attempt), we would have been up by 9pts and this self induced drama was unwarranted.
