Eric Sanders / Jaylen Jenkins

Wonder if new Head coach Bobby Kennedy knows Sanders? Anyway losing Sanders/Jenkins hurts and wonder who may hire as DC?
 
Sanders did show improvement at EWU, I can't blame him for going to montana as they have the money to recruit, facilities etc. However, Unders Sanders EWU did get obliterated at times. The big loss to me is the continuity as we can't keep coaches . I think Montana could have hired a way better Defensive Coordinator than Sanders. I think Montana will regret this hire.
 
Eh whatever. I have a hard time caring while the team is run by Best. I don't really care if coaches and players move up to FBS teams. It sucks but its to be expected. It is unacceptable that we're losing players and coaches to other FCS teams.

What is going to be interesting and revealing is how successful Sanders is at Montana. If Montana's defense does well next season then it was Eastern and Best holding Sanders back, if he does poorly he isn't a good DC.

I'm guessing Best won't be able to hire anyone decent because of the few seasons left on his contract and his seat getting hotter. I bet he promotes from within or hires a washed DC with decent experience like Copp was.

I look at bad decisions like Best starting Taylor and Bell over Schakel and hiring an OC and QBs coach with no play calling and QB experience and think that is the dumb stuff we see from the outside. What dumb shit is he doing inside the program? Looking at coaches that will take a lateral move, not even an upgrade, makes me think I'm right.

Kind of a bummer, honestly. The defense (and defensive line in particular) were one of the bright spots from this past season, IMO.

Decent at times and god awful at others. The second half performance against Montana where they held them to 7 points might be one of the reasons they wanted him.
