Official: SAC to the MAC

Good breakdown of the known numbers of our situation. He's off on what the new student fees will generate as he calculates it as an annual increase and not a semester increase, so it'll increase by $8.5M and not $4.25M. Also not sure why be split CA recruiting numbers but not FL and TX, but whatever.

Key number: Athletics budget was $52.7 M in FY25. Like I said, not worried about the financials.

Yes… I was just about to make the same post. This guy understands the business side of this for both sides.
Also Agree. If our finances remain solid, and the community steps up we are in good shape to be near the top 1/3rd of the conference in performance in the field of our coaches & players are well prepared.
I’m anxiously awaiting to when our AD M ORR can start sharing future out of conference Home / Away scheduling agreements w FBS. Once we can see a few solid teams visit SAC ST we will know if 25 or the 30K sized stadium is a good size? TBD
Maybe Pres Wood can call some of his old connections at San Diego St. maybe Orr can call some of his friends from CAL. Would be an EPIC experience to see a PAC / ACC program on our field to play SAC ST.

Below is another interview with University President Wood.

I haven’t watched the SacTown Sports interview yet, as he probably stated many of the same things as he does in this interview — but one important financial aspect that stuck out to me was this.

Wood said that until 2 weeks ago the football program and athletic department didn’t have access to any revenue from merchandising, pouring rights, food and beverage, and parking — which was owned by a 3rd party from whom they have now re-secured the rights.

I never knew that either. WHY would we have agreed to such an arrangement if we were not collecting compensation.
