I'm not liking this one little bit, but it may not turn out as bad as I'm fearing. I'm not ditching the Hornets over this the way some of my friends and family ditched the Cowboys over their mishandling of Micah Parsons.
Gaucho brings up a good point, but SD may well have answered it correctly. My personal preference (if their is a Title IX problem) will get laughed at, but I don't really care: start women's football. A schollie-for-schollie balance would kill the problem right there.
I've been concerned about the disposition of the Olympic sports, but that question seems to have been answered; the speculation of parking them in the Big West seems to have come to fruition. That was a major concern because indy status for sports like hoops and volleyball is way worse than for football. At least we have that.
My biggest concerns with joining the MAC are the travel footprint, the idea I've seen in articles today that we've agreed to foot the travel bill for every MAC team coming to SAC, and the relative anonymity to which we're forcing on ourselves. There's absolutely zero chance we'll get an invite to the Abomination even if we happen to win the MAC title, and the best bowl to which the MAC has a tie-in is the Quick Lane Bowl.
But these are just nit-picks that have nothing to do with Hornet players, who are the best in the world as far as I'm concerned. I will continue to follow them and cheer for them, even if they're being led by crazy people...as crazy as Jerry Jones, who has relegated the Cowboys to oblivion for years now....
