Athletic Facilities

Wait, you seriously think that's "on par" with any future stadium you're about to build at the horse track, or wherever?

I didn’t say exact replica? Are you suggesting that whatever they choose to build won’t even be comparable? This is a pretty bare bones stadium. Straight vertical bleacher seating, a single press box, not completely surrounded with seating. Again I didn’t say this is our exact stadium but I think for cost purposes we’d have to expect a stadium that resembles something like this. Which could mean that it’s not as good also.

Agree 110%. Why would CSU issue bonds against a property that is not CSU controlled? Wont happen.
I recall seeing the CSU BOT has funds earmarked for a stadium replacement in 27/28.

My gut is telling me Wood/Orr is entertaining/talking to Cal Expo so they can tell the media/public they are working with CE and get everyone off their back.

Drag this out until 2027 when BOT funds are available and then reveal CE didnt work out, so now they are back on campus. And btw, the track has to stay because of the T&F programs.

Why spend $3M on current Hornet Stadium to throw it away? That is foolish use of funds.
Signage, bleachers I’m sure can be re- purposed to other sports @ activities.

Why throw away 4 million dollars on upgrades.. if it's all getting torn down.. kind of pointless.

Where is all the money coming from for all this stuff? How much was Collegiate Consulting paid over 2.5 years working with you guys for their knowledge of joining the MAC?

How much more will annual football budget overhead be now to keep up with FBS competitive coaching costs? With no media money for 5 years.. I mean..

The Pac-12 donors are no longer on the hook for any pledges, because that's not what happened, so how much money really is in the bank? What is the actual money in the bank for NIL? Not just pledges..

It seems like you guys are just making excuses about California High speed rail being a rip-off to the taxpayer as a way to project your guilt for about going essentially insolvent soon and the bailout coming on the California taxpayer backs just for your vanity FBS move.
Remember when you said we weren't going to get an FBS invite? Lol, cry harder.

Why non-fans of this University/program continue to perform mental gymnastics in hating on this move and the decisions that have been made continues to astound.

Myself, I’ve got better things to do than visit forums of things I don’t like to waste time reading things about the thing I don’t like to then also spam negative messages about the thing I don’t like.

I guess not everyone can say the same.

Something about $18 million to buy in plus $5 million to move up plus forgoing all shared media revenue plus promising extra body bag games per year (so why bother with any home stadium renovations) doesn’t really add up.

There is also a bit of a fairness issue… NDSU, for all their limitations, has 10 national championships from 2011 on. Sac State has a pair of quarterfinal appearances. “Deserves” may not have anything to do with actually moving up, but in the realm of public perception, there’s an ocean of difference.

And did I really have to say that?

There is something of a mental exercise I’m playing with, a curious hypothetical. It can get distorted because social media can generate considerable attention that may not exist elsewhere. But my question: does any MAC school have a bigger football profile than North Dakota State right now?

All MAC schools have a higher profile simply because an FBS team can be scheduled as a home game. No more being top banana playing SE Missouri State or Ark-Pine Bluff.
Will be curious how the Bison do against good programs week after week.

More exposure nationally, ability to schedule home games against FBS programs and more money. No FBS will ever visit an FCS.

Fairness? Pfffttt. Tell that to Kennesaw, Missouri State and Texas State who had less success at JV ball than Sac.
