2016 Women's basketball

Post by josephpoint » Wed Nov 30, 2016 8:52 pm

Congratulations to the Hornets for a 30 point win over Stanislaus State. Hornetsports.com has reported this game as the first meeting ever between the two schools, but recall many games between the two schools back in the Div II years in the Far Western Conference when the schools played twice a year for many years. Was there and watched the games and glad to see the schools play again after all these years. Best of luck this Saturday against USC. The Trojans coming to Hornet Gym is very historic. Hope the sports marketing department has a plan to sell the place out. One would hope the tiny gym would be sold out for the Trojans and with the added draw of the men playing UC Merced in the earlier game.

nice to see 954 at the game tonight. A 16 point loss to the Trojans but happy to see the program bringing in a Pac 12 foe. Keep shooting high Hornets.

And congrats to the men tonight for a big win against UC Merced in the first game at Hornet Gym tonight attended by 801.

Hope to see Hornet Gym at capacity of 1,002 some time this season.

congrats to the Hornets tonight for a win at UC Irvine in front of 159 fans at this Bog West school.

Next up. UC Davis at home.

Would be great to see Hornet Gym filled up for the rivalry match up in a year so far that has seen Davis get past us in most sports And talked to the former Aggie basketball coach who predicts the Aggie team is likely e bound for the NCAA tourney.

So assume we are taking on the best in the Big West coming up.

Go Hornets and

Stingers Up

and great job Hornets in taking on USC, Cal and all comers

Love how this Hornet program puts together a steller non conference
schedule year after year and goes for it big time. That is the way to get it done in the Big Sky against the bigger conferences in Div I .

Hornets continue to work some Stinger magic on the road by going on a 22-0 run at Portland State when down 58-45 late in the third period and pull out a huge victory. 4-4 in Big Sky at the mid way point in the conference season with the majority of the remaining games at Hornet Gym. And a roster finally with most if not all players back from injury.

sorry to see the Hornets go down today in overtime in the first round of the Big Sky tourney.

Looking forward to a program that has come so far in the past 4 to 5 years to be relevant and and setting so many records.

Thanks to the seniors for doing their part in a program that has come so far and continues to rise up and takes on a top notch Div I schedule year after year.

To many injuries, with a team with a high amount of seniors. Brianna Burgos sad to say never came back 100 % from her injury. They had a great amount of experience, but couldn't put it together.
