#11 Montana at #5 EWU Game Thread

The refs screwed us today too. Montana clearly fumbled on the pass play in the second quarter and we recovered. That drive ended in a UM TD. The correct call was at a minimum a 7 point swing. If we convert that turnover into points it could have been a 10-14 point swing. The impact of that crappy call was far more damaging to us than their blown TD call was for UM. The difference is that we overcame it and a select group of their fans want a scapegoat.

Pretty simple really, EWU is a better team and that's the only excuse the griz have for losing.
 
I laughed reading their board. ONLY Montana fans can bitch when they can't cheat. Shit, how many times have we gone over there and been totally screwed? One call doesn't go their way and they act like it cost them their season. And I agree, they got a TD off a blown call earlier in the game...
 
Good win. Awesome to see VA back under center. Didn't look like a guy who had missed the last 4 games with a broken foot. Despite the fact that for the last few years I have expected EWU to get a win against Montana it still feels good to beat them. This team is looking better and better with injured guys coming back and getting healthy. Just one more win away from, at worst, a share of another conference championship.

Wrong, the receiver was contacted when making the catch. Per rule. The catch is not completed until the receiver carries it through the process of going to the ground. He was contacted while catching the ball. Therefore there is no was he could fumble on the play per the rules.

The officiating was so aggregious in the 2009 game in Missoula that the BSC actually came out the next day and officially commented on it. I don't want to hear about this officiating BS. The better team won today.

Also, that sure looked like that Montana receiver fumbled to me. :coffee:

Why the Griz will never be allowed to comment about bad officiating again. They screwed us so bad that day, that they ought to send us a formal apology... Even now. Until they do that, any bitching falls on deaf ears.
