Are there any scholarships available??
We're only losing 2 scholarship players (Paul & Juma), as a.W. was supposedly not on scholarship.

With Dominguez, J.R., and Alex (you spell Tiefenthaler) taking 3 scholarships, that's a total of 12 already, no counting Brian Curtis, who wasn't on scholarship this year. There is also the guy from Seattle (Brandon?) who would take a scholarship if he becomes academically eligible.

GO VIKS!!

oregonpreps.rivals.com show some interesting possiblities.

Can't believe that Sommer would pack it in. What's he going to do with one season of eligibility left? He has to drop down to a DII school. I find it hard to believe that Bone is so awful to play for. He's coached for 20 years at SPU and UW?

Speaking of recruiting, a kid PSU might want to look at if they're going to expand their horizons is Jeronne Maymon from my hometown. He supposedly is trouble, but because of that many local teams are being scared off. He probably can't get in to any of those schools either. He's a star, though, and doesn't graduate until 2009.

Other guys we need to put the press on are the two stars at Grant, Moser and McCoy.

If this year was any indication, he would see less minutes next year and probably not start. I hear that he's just going home at this point and wasn't going to play anywhere.

I'm quite bummed about this. I enjoyed watching him play at PSU. Some say he's a hot head, but I think that he's just an ultra competitive player that really wants to win. He's a great defender when PSU is in man defense and I'm sad to see him go. You need a guy on the team that has an absolute hatred of losing...

I'm bummed too. He should stay and compete. He's a great ball handler but he wasn't breaking down defenses with his drives like he did last year. He lost a lot of confidence in his shot. I like to see kids complete their careers at PSU. But as far as the program goes, you have to have the best kids on the floor that you can. No one guaranteed minutes. The toughest thing for a coach is distributing minutes.

From what I understand, Ryan is just worn out, and "tired of basketball." As Marty said, I believe his plan right now is to just go home and hang out for a while, and he won't even be enrolled at PSU this coming quarter.

His decision didn't have anything to do with "projected minutes" next year, or the coaches (he was a Bone recruit (the first, I believe)), and it just sounds like his heart isn't it, right now.

Good luck in your future endeavours, Ryan.

Watching him was funny because he seemed to try to emulate Steve Nash. The long shaggy hair and 5 o'clock shadow and wrapping himself completely in towels on the bench after playing at full speed all the time.

My understanding is that the scholarships are now full for next season? Has Freeman already accepted a scholarship?

Nope he has not

I updated Marty's first post, any person I need to add?

McCoy perhaps. He's a three sport standout at Grant in football, track, and basketball. Apparently when JG came in he became a priority.
