2009-2010 Recruits

JC Wing from Cali (I think he will have 3 years of eligibility) or a High School Wing are both being looked at. Also, a big-man 6-10 is being looked for (JC or High School).

good news. After getting schooled my msu's bigs in the semis i am convinced we need to focus a little more on recruiting some big tallent. From what i can tell, this is the hardest position to recruit in the Big Sky, and it is something Rahe could defenitely improve on. He does great with his guards, but needs to bring in some more centers that can play. Though i guess his big men recruits are still relatively young. Maybe we will find out more about Morris next year. He did finish out the tournament playing quite well.

I agree, Weber might have a couple of talented bigs, but definitely needs some more depth at that position. From what I have hear, Washington will be in the starting lineup (4). Of course, my info may be wrong. I've also heard that Hughey will be Weber's best defender next season, unless Rahe signs the JC from Cali that he is looking at. Supposedly the kid can play...

I keep hearing from coaches and players that Washington is going to be a huge addition to the team. I'm not 100% sure about this, but I think he will get another year, if he graduates early. 3 years of Lillard and Washington... Also, I've heard that Coro is definitely good enough to be a Freshman of the Year... It'll be harder next year, since there are a lot of quality Freshmen coming into the league, but I think it is possible. I haven't heard the best comments on Dent, other than he is a very competitive and hard working player, he may not see to much time.

Matt Peeler (the player linked in the previous post) is listed as 6'8" on the Otero JC web site (rather than the 6'6" listed on the Rivals.com site).

Of course, with as much fibbing as there is when it comes to height, he might actually be 5'4". If he can bounce people around in the key, I'll take him anyway!

Weber State seems to recruit Small Forwards
WEBER STATE ON THE HUNT? Ryan Brimley 6'3" Swingman From Snow Juco, is a maybe, were not sold on him yet. 13 ppg/........ 6'4" Vom Allmon from Colorado is a much better talent and is going about 24 pts a game and 4 yrs are better then 2....................With a sweet shot and strong academics, Craig Von Allman of Windsor High School is sitting on two basketball offers with potentially more on the way. I'm a lefty so I'm a little biased, but I think few things are prettier in sports then a southpaw shooting three pointers. In the state of Colorado few do it better than Craig Von Allman of Windsor High School. Last season, Von Allman, a 6-4 shooting guard, hit 60% of his treys. Are you kidding me, 60%!! In so doing, Allman averaged nearly 19 a game while leading Windsor to a 17-8 record. Von Allman is not a streak shooter, but a consistent well-rounded scorer who can put the ball on the floor and score in the paint. Von Allman scored double figures in 24 of his 25 games. He scored over 15 points 19 times which included multiple games with 30 or more points. According to club coach David Matthews Von Allman is, "Very versatile on offense. One of the best shooters in the state, with a very smooth release. Finishes very well at the rim and has a great motor. Tenacious defender who always plays hard. First Team All-Conference and All-State. Wonderful upper mid major prospect, who has had a tremendous spring." Currently, Von Allman holds offers from Air Force and Weber State and is getting interest from Colorado State, Boise State, Northern Colorado, Northern Arizona and Montana State. Due to his strong academics, Von Allman is also receiving attention from Harvard, Penn and Dartmouth. ........... 6'5" Markeys Dean Small forward Big Spring (TX) Howard J.C. 220 lbs is much like the small forward "Hall" they tried to recruit last year. Kind of Studly.............11 ppgs.... 6'6" Mike Fitzgerald Shooting guard Mendota Heights (MN) St. Thomas Academy AAU: Howard Pulley mostly perimiter player. not exactly what Coach Rahe, seems to recruit....

Weber is also looking at a kid from Saddleback Community College in California... Franklin Sessions. He is a rebounding monster, and can be a scorer.

Does anyone know what recruits were here over the weekend? Who's looking good. Any close verbals?

All I know is if we sign the players we are after PSU and UM are screwed!!!!!!

Go Weber!!!!!!!!

Franklin Sessions came on an official visit over the weekend, and has been offered a scholarship. He would be a huge addition to our team. To bad he had to come on a weekend that it snowed three out of the four days he was here.. He is from Southern Cal...

I have heard that he has mad hoops, is really quick, and is a rebounding beast! He is a reliable scorer and during the pick up game on Sat he threw down a monster dunk!!! The Wizard is looking for 1 maybe 2 more to sign for next season. He is looking for Wings and Guards...

Craig Von Allman has been offered...

Peeler is being looked at the for the 2010-2011 season.. However, he is someone that the coaches have had an eye on since his Soph year of high school.

whatever happened to that Ben Mills?

On weberhoops.com/recruits i can see Mills and Von Allman are both recruits for next season. they were only juniors this yr in high school.

I think our biggest question right now is if Session will sign...I think we will have good depth in every position if he signs. Though we will have a battle for the starting 2 and 3 for sure!

We should know by this weekend who will be Wildcats. I'm thinking that out of the two that will sign one will be coming from High School and the other will be from the JC ranks. Also, for next fall keep an eye on Josh Peeler, Lionell Holmes, and of course 6'11" Ben Mills. I've heard that Weber has made Bens short list...however, I don't know how reliable that info is.
