2009 UNC football Schedule.

Sept 5th- @ Kansas
Sept 12th- San Diego
Sept 19th- @ Eastern Washington
Sept 26th- Montana State
Oct 3rd- @ Northern Arizona
Oct 10th- Portland State
Oct 17th- @ Idaho State
Oct 24th- Weber State
Oct 31st- South Dakota
Nov 7th- Sacramento State
Nov 14th- @ Montana

6 home games and 5 away games. This is a good schedule, it will be interesting to see how much the Bears will improve next season.

I saw 3-4 wins. I think wins will be San Diego, South Dakota and maybe MSU (we beat them every other year) and maybe ISU.

We'll beat San Diego, South Dakota, Portland State, Idaho State, and Sac and maybe Montana St.
so put me down for 5 wins

It's cool to see there is some optimism here, that's refreshing but unfortunatly I just can't expect much after the last 3 years of 1 win. We would be underdogs in each of those games so to win any it will be an upset. I'll continue to expect one win until shown otherwise and I really hope they prove me wrong but the onus is on them to do so.... but until then, 1-10.

I hope I am dead wrong but there are probably only 2 wins in there. Not sure exactly which 2. If I had to rank the chances of our wins it would be in this order so the 2 wins are probably going to come out of the top 4 teams listed.

San Diego
South Dakota
Idaho State (I think ISU is worse than the USD's but we play them on the road)
Sacramento State
PSU
NAU
EWU
MSU
Weber State
Montana
Kansas

I really hope and believe they can scrape together a .500 season, but I just don't want to get my hopes too high you know?

I hope the Bears do alot better this year, and I hope Weber does better than they did last year. Personaly, I hope the BSC as a whole will be more competative this year

Since I'm bored I'll give a little run down of what I think.

Sept 5th- @ Kansas-----L, KU went 8-5 last year and with Reesing back at QB I'm sure they'll come close to putting a 60 spot on UNC

Sept 12th- San Diego ----- W, even though they went 9-2 last season, if you look at their schedule they didn't face quality competition in my mind. They did beat UC Davis, but UNC should've too.

Sept 19th- @ Eastern Washington L ------ Despite the NCAA coming down on EWU, they have a lot of kids coming back specifically their QB, They'll probably be a top of the Big Sky.

Sept 26th- Montana State ----- W, I am gonna go out on a limb and give UNC a W , only because last time MSU played in Greeley UNC won. Plus MSU is the team UNC has had the most success with.

Oct 3rd- @ Northern Arizona ----- W, Not sure what they lost or gained, but since UNC had them on the ropes this past season. I'll give UNC the nod.

Oct 10th- Portland State ------ W, I am gonna say W, but this could go either way. They only beat UNC by 3 last season, plus they went 4-7 on seaon

Oct 17th- @ Idaho State ------ W, Only because UNC beat them this past season, but this is a road game so it could be a lot tougher

Oct 24th- Weber State ------ L, Even though Weber lost some key players on D, they have probably one of the better OB in the big sky, as well as a good RB.

Oct 31st- South Dakota ----- W, Don't know much about them but give UNC the nod because they are just making the jump to FCS, plus its in Greeley

Nov 7th- Sacramento State ---- L, There's been a lot of talk about these guys being on the rise in the big sky, and they supposedly had one of the best recruiting class at the FCS level.

Nov 14th- @ Montana ------ L, Honest I thought UNC hung tough with these guy for the first quarter until things got away from them. They might of been ahead for a bit if they did mess up that red zone attempt, the missed handled snap.

I'm figuring them to finish 6-5, I feel its feasible, but as we saw last year they could've easily had a similar record. UNC could've started out 3-1 if all those heart break loses went our way. I feel that a lot of these Ws could go either way though. Just my thoughts fill free to comment.

I can see that.

If we get 1 win, I could see the whole coaching staff being signed on for 3 more years with pay raises!

I honestly cant summon the energy to give create a reasonable prediction. I really hope Downing is able to turn things around, but after three years of false hopes I am done. I predict 1-10 that way anything better will be an exciting surprise...

I think we should be able to win more than one game, AT LEAST, I'd really hate to them go 1-10 again. Just for the sake of the program.

If we can't beat South Dakota at home then Downing should be tarred and feathered on the spot, unfortunatly by then nobody will probably be there.

The question is: Are the fans going to actually root for the Bears to win enough for Downing to keep his job or are the faithful pulling for a change at the end of the season and have some one like Joe come back to Greeley? I'm not sure if we did have Glenn come back he would be as successful. He had a lot of good assistants and they're scattered now that Wyoming didn't work out. Breske in Fargo and Marty English is still at Wyo.
