2010 Commit List

If you look at the rankings by university, we rank tied with Louisiana Monroe at 115th best recruiting class, BUT there is only 1 program ahead of us in FCS, Appalachian St. We are ahead of San Jose St., and definitely above Univ. of Cow Dung.

Great early commits, all two start recruits! I especially like James King who had offers to Army, Navy, UNLV and UC Dungpile! :lol:

Seriously, though, we should be taking a look at Lodi High two-way star Collin Rhoades. He's an outstanding quarterback who made all-league at DB this year. A guy with THAT kind of flexibility could go a long way toward getting us into the playoffs!
 
According to the Bee this morning, we have given an offer to Inderkum QB Demetrius Williams. Also, Poly has offered him as well. Sure hope he was one of those 100 recruits at Causeway...and decides to stay home and play for us.

I hear recruiting is going very, very well. The staff is bringing some studs in and they are very excited about the quality of the players they are getting. We had 2 or 3 more commits this weekend. I believe there are 6-8 verbal commits and we have one or two mid-year JC transfers that are signed. A big time D1A transfer may be in the works also.
 
HHS!!! You can't tease us like that!? Can you speak to the "star" quality of the recruits? Also, in sure you can't reveal the player, but how about the school/position of the dropdown?

Coaches can only say certain things about recruiting, so I only get very general information and I can't answer your questions. I understand the player dropping down was a four star guy and is an offensive lineman. Now that being said, its not a done deal, but its looking pretty good so far. I'll release details if/when I have them and am told its ok to do so. Sorry I don't have anything more specific, but I thought you'd at least like to hear things so far look really good. Keep in mind recruits change their minds, so nothing is set in stone until signing day in February, except of course for the mid-year transfers who should be announced anytime.

I see that an offer has been made to Charles Boyett. What are your thoughts since you both seem to have a lot on knowledge on MEL football and Napa in particular. Does he have the same high motor that his brother has? I would love to see John play QB at the college level. He was one of the most entertaining and effective high school players I have ever seen.
 
Great news HHD, thanks for the update. As much as everyone want to know specifics, I am fine with not finding out who the Hornets landed until its official and in stone. It’s good to hear Sperbeck and Co picked up where they left off from last season’s recruiting success. :D

Nice. Given that the two schools that folded are back east, I didn't expect any of the players to end up out west. Good job by the coaches seeing that this player was originally from CA and taking a stab at him. He is listed as a center so I wonder if the coaches will redshirt him or move him to guard. The Hornets return Taylor and Pfaff at center. This will definitely help given the fact that 3 of the 5 starting O-Linemen graduated. Great job by the coaches, a team can never have enough depth in the trenches.

Checked out Hofstra's roster, looks like he was their starting center. There are about three more Californians on the roster, maybe we will get more!

Awesome student, starting center and he can jump too with fast feet. Very solid pickup.
