2011 QB Recruit

Was out in California on a business trip to meet with a client. Usually being out there, not a lot of people know about the University of Northern Colorado except during our Punter National News days, but this last trip my client couldn't stop asking me about UNC football. I finally had to ask and he said a big time recruit on his son's HS football team had been offered by UNC, they said the whole area loved him and the kid had UNC high on his list. Said the kid was a big time talent and an even better kid. Being an Alum I was proud to talk about the new facilities, (even though I've only heard of them, can you see them?) and the great town and college. The kids name was Michael Eubank, and while I know its not the biggest indicator, Rivals.com had him ranked as a 3 star QB. http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Michael-Eubank-96997

The kid looks huge and I know we'd love to have the 24th ranked QB recruit in the nation! I guess the new facility with a couple years developing the program/recruiting under his belt, this is the type of recruiting Coach Downing finally has going on for the Bears like he did at Nebraska.

Wow, Northern Colorado really stands out on that list with teams like Michigan and Notre Dame.

that's really cool! Hopefully we stay on this kid. The new facilities are awesome but the best recruiting tool will be the wins. Hopefully we will see more of those this year.

Kinda reminds me of that Joe Hemschoot guy, we had offered him way early, then everyone else caught flight about him. Then he goes to Stanford.

That'd be awesome if he came to UNC, but I don't want to get my hopes up too much.

Here's a video of him:

The thing about the list on Rivals is that those are schools that he is interested in and they are not necessarily interested in him. Ask most juniors what their top 5 schools are and you are going to get a list like that. Ask again during their senior year and it will be markedly different.
