28-29 games? Any rumors going around?

I know that Rahe mentioned that Weber would possibly be playing in some tourny hosted by Wyoming in November, at an earlier Wildcat Club luncheon, but I can't substantiate that information.

I highly doubt Weber plays UVU this season. Add a couple of DII mutes and possibly one more home and home starting in Ogden and I think that that schedule looks pretty good.

Looks like we play at Dayton...

Nice find. Hope we get a return game.

I wonder if Dayton is our "Money game" of the year

From the article, it sounded like the game is a one and done type of arrangement, so I'm guessing it is a money game. It would be sweet if it was a 2 for 1. I'd like to see Dayton come to the Dee next year. Dayton has been down the past couple of years, so if Weber gets some decent and fair refs, there may be a chance that the Cats could pull off the W.

Okay, maybe not. They did have 23 home games, so, technically, I hope that the Flyers could get a 20 win season. However, they didn't take the Utah State approach (nothing against the Aggies, I'm jealous, i'd like more home games), they actually played some tough teams last year: Wake Forest, Alabama, Minnesota, Fairfield, Seton Hall, Ole Miss (they lost to Buffalo), and of course the A-10 isn't a push over conference. Did Butler and VCU join the A-10 (16 team basketball conference, just like the Big East).

On a side note, how can you really respect a team that buys 20 wins? I respect teams that can win 20 games in a more balanced manner. A team that gets wins on the road and has 15 and 15 or 14 and 14 (with some neutral court games). Sitting at home the entire OOC is cheap in my opinion. Yes, you make a lot of money, and that is what it is all about, but still its a skewed indication of how good you really are. ;-)

Tal, you owe Wildcat an apology. UVU will be visiting the Dee this fall. I guess Rahe figured it would be best to maintain our RPI by playing UVU instead of the RPI killing Utes. Oh, also, on a side note, I've heard that Weber will NOT be visiting UTA this fall, but have elected to wait a year.

We need to follow long beach state and play all the big name schools that we can get. Gets us in the door with other teams and more on the national stage plus gets better competition. Just play whoever will play us. I liked the game against cal and st mary's last yr but we need more like that. not more DII DIII teams

The road game at Univ of Dayton is on their schedule for Wed 11-28. Wonder if Weber can get another road game in the Midwest?

The NCAA could solve everyone's scheduling problems with the stroke of a pen. Pass a rule that all game contracts are to be of the home and home variety, with few exceptions, and everybody wins, with the exception of those who have been buying 20 wins every season. They won't do it. Cash rules the day, and the teams with cash will continue to buy their way into the NCAA tourney every year. The NCAA is a paper tiger, front, for the larger schools. It's the reason that the NCAA refuses to tackle the big issues, but continues to harras the ISUs of the world. They refuse to take on the BCS, officiating inequities, and quazi agents who handle AAU players in these summer leagues.

You are right...

Wildcat, I'm sorry, UVU is coming to the Dee.

As for the UTA rumour, I haven't heard whether or not it is true, but if you say so, I guess you might be right. Weber can "elect" not to make the return trip the year after playing a home bracketbuster. It could be possible that Weber will go to Texas in 2013-2014.

Also, I've heard that Rahe is trying to get another midwest game along with Dayton.

Finally, as of right now, the Cats will not be playing in any tournaments.

Believe what you want, Weber isn't going to UTA this upcoming season. Makes sense to me, Hill and Bolomboy will both be available next year. I think coach wants their families to be able to watch them. No holiday tournaments eh? What about Wyo? Guess the Cowboys chickened out. Good to hear Sobey made the choice to play for a group of cowards. I'd rather have Williams and Bradford anyway.

I thought we had to play at UTA because we hosted them. That is why San Jose State came to play us last year.

If it stands as it is now, that's 28 games, any chances we try to get another OOC home game and have a total of 29 total games?

Purpforlife is right, according to a source in the bunker of the stadium, the Cats will not be playing at UTA until the 2013-2014 season.

Wildkyle...bracketbuster home teams have two seasons after the original home game to make up the bracket buster. San Jose chose to make the return trip last season, but they could have waited till this season to make up the game.
